2016 World Cup Of Golf Preview And Tips

This week the golfing world turns its attention to the World Cup Of golf, but it’s time for some plaudits first. The blog may have highlighted a couple of 50/1 placed selections in last week’s DP World Tour Championship – but The Golf Betting Expert outshone us again with a brilliant 66/1 winner in Matthew Fitzpatrick, plus a 100/1 each-way selection. Darren also tells me The Golf Betting Expert is offering Betting God Members a once-off opportunity to join his service for life at just £197.97 (Normally £359.95) Click Here to Access this One-Off Offer!

And now on with this week’s action…

The World Cup of Golf continues its love-affair with Australia this week but, whilst the players will surely enjoy the forecast sunny weather, most of us will have to record the early-morning coverage and watch it later. Kingston Heath is a new course for most players but, as it’s recently been voted one of the top-20 courses in the world, I’m sure players and punters will enjoy it, especially as it’s set to play hard and fast, really testing the players’ skill-sets.

The format is fun too, with each country represented by two players, with the top-ranked player in each team getting to pick his partner as they embark on four-rounds together, comprising 2 foursomes and 2 four-balls.

It’s not surprising that the home team of Adam Scott and Mark Leishman are favourites, though the USA pairing of Jimmy Walker and Rickie Fowler have a combined world-ranking some 29-places higher than them. Meanwhile, nine of the teams have two players ranked inside the world’s top-100.

2016 World Cup Of Golf Betting

5/1 Australia (Adam Scott & Marc Leishman)

8/1 Japan (Hideki Matsuyama & Ryo Ishikawa)

9/1 USA (Jimmy Walker & Rickie Fowler)

10/1 Spain (Rafa Cabrero-Bello & John Rahm)

12/1 Sweden (Alex Noren & David Lingmerth)

14/1 Ireland (Shane Lowry and Graeme McDowell)

14/1 England (Chris Wood & Andy O’Sullivan)

16/1 Belgium (Thomas Pieters & Nicolas Colsaerts)

22/1 Denmark (Thorbjorn Olesen & Soren Kjeldson)

22/1 South Korea (K.T. Kim & Byeong-Hun An)

Adam Scott has some excellent form all over Australia but may be lacking real motivation after winning the event before. Meanwhile, the Japanese pairing look to have great motivation as they’ve been acclimatising at Royal Melbourne in preparation, and the youngsters are great mates who seem to share the same focus. Jimmy Walker and Rickie Fowler could easily win, but they could be forgiven for finding this anti-climactic after the Ryder Cup, a theory that may also apply to the English pairing of Wood and Sullivan. Meanwhile, the Spanish, South Korean and Swedish duos play on different tours so may not have an automatic bond, whilst I’m not sure the firm conditions will prove ideal for the big-hitting Belgians. It’s possible to make a case for the Irish duo, but the Danes, look more interesting with Olesen having won in Australia before, whilst both have been in decent form in the last couple of weeks. Therefore, for me, it’s Japan and Denmark against the field.
