The agreement between Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal for the Gabonese striker Pierrer-Emerick Aubameyang seem to be coming to an end.
£55.4 million was the sum agreed between clubs, that has increased from the first proposal of £44 million, making history as the highest paid player for this club.
Breaking down the contract it will worth £180,000-a-week until 2021. Aubameyang has established himself as one of the most prolific strikers in any European league. He has scored 141 goals in four-and-a-half seasons for Dortmund.
The Gunners were eliminated in their FA Cup third round meeting with Nottingham Forest earlier this month but have advanced to the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City and will confront Swedish side Ostersund in the Europa League last 32.
Arsenal are looking for Aubameyang to replace Chile forward Alexis Sanchez, who joined Manchester United earlier this month.
