[Free Tips] Tips For Cheltenham Festival Day 4

The fourth and final day of the 2020 Cheltenham Festival has come around too quickly, but it promises to be a thriller. It kicks off with what looks a vintage edition of the Triumph Hurdle, whilst the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle will test the stamina of some top novice hurdlers over 3 miles. But day 4 is all about the Cheltenham Gold Cup, jump racing’s Blue Riband event.

Triumph Hurdle Analysis

There are lots of horses that like to force the pace in the 2020 Triumph Hurdle but Allmankind could have the pace to lead them all after handing out a 9-length beating to useful yardstick Cerberus at Chepstow last time. That form looks to give him the beating of the best of the Irish horses.

Paul Nicholls could have another Zarkander on his hand in the shape of Solo, whilst his other runner Sir Psycho also has a chance.

Gary Moore has been happy to tell everyone that Goshen is a monster and he looked it when dotting up in three hurdle races after previously making rapid improvement on the flat. He’s shown an awesome blend of stamina and speed and the Moore stable had three winners on Monday, suggesting he should be capable of running up to his best.

Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle Analysis

14:50 at Cheltenham Racecourse on 13th March

Thyme Hill has a terrific chance on the form book, considering he split Envoi Allen and Abacadabras in last year’s Festival bumper and is unbeaten over hurdles. But the form of the Phillip Hobbs stable is a major concern after the flops of the well-fancied Sporting John and Defi Du Seuil. Latest Exhibition, Monkfish, Harry Senior, and Ramses De Teille are all respected but I’m playing two at bigger prices each-way against the field.

Sempo looks sure to be suited by this stamina test and he has decent Festival form having finished sixth in last year’s bumper. The Gordon Elliott-trained Fury Road also looks sure to be suited by three miles after getting done for toe over shorter in a slowly run race last time.

Cheltenham Gold Cup Analysis

Last year’s winner Al Boum Photo has proved this test is ideal, but he faces some new rivals that could be as equally suited by this test. Santini fits the bill after looking sure to appreciate the extra distance of the Gold Cup after finishing second in last season’s RSA, and trainer Nicky Henderson is in brilliant form. Santini finished just in front of Delta Work last year but Gordon Elliott’s 7-year-old has won his last two in the fashion that suggests he’ll also relish this test. But it’s noticeable that Davy Russell in not aboard Delta Work.

Cheltenham Festival dual-winner Presenting Percy looks the value each-way bet. He did flop in this race last year but has had a much better preparation this year. He’s also proven he stays further and could relish the climb to the line more than most.
