[Free Tips] Tips For Cheltenham Festival Day 3
Day 3 of the 2020 Cheltenham Festival is all about the Ryanair Chase and the Stayers’ Hurdle and you can check out our latest Cheltenham free tips below.
Ryanair Chase Analysis
14:50 at Cheltenham Racecourse on 12th March
A fascinating eight-runner renewal of this Grade 1 Chase over 2 miles 4 furlongs and 127 yards, with plenty of the runners bringing top-class Cheltenham form to the table.
Shattered Love has won a JLT Chase bit has struggled in this class since, whilst Duc Des Genievres won last year’s Arkle Chase, but that form has taken plenty of knocks.
Saint Calvados has run well off big-weights in Cheltenham Handicaps this season but has struggled at Championship pace before, whilst Riders On The Storm will do well to bounce back from a really tough race at Ascot last month.
Aso has been placed in the last two editions of the Ryanair Chase, but he probably needs at least one of his rivals to underperform if he’s to finish in the first three this time. Frodon beat Aso into second last year and he could go well again, especially as he stays further in a race that looks sure to turn into something of a stamina test.
But the finish could be fought out between Min and A Plus Tard. Min is lethal on a going day, and the money normally comes for him when he’s going well at home. However, plenty of Willie Mullins horses have not performed to their best this week and you’re taking a chance.
Stayers’ Hurdle Analysis
15:30 at Cheltenham Racecourse on 12th March
15 runners are set to go to post for the 2020 Stayers’ Hurdle but there looks to be plenty of deadwood. Apple’s Jade is interesting at a big price if she could come back to her best, but she tends to be best earlier in the season and at Leopardstown. But beware, as the Elliott team is going well.
Money for Penhill would also be interesting, as his owner is legendary gambler Tony Bloom, whilst the best two runs of Penhill’s career came when winning the 2017 Albert Bartlett and the 2018 Stayers’ Hurdle. However, he’s not shown he’s still that good this season.
Emitom has looked best on a flat track so far, but 2018 Supreme Novice Hurdle winner Summerville Boy could give them all a race if he’s held up for a turn-of-foot this time. Last year’s winner Paisley Park beat Summerville Boy last time and the hot-favourite is odds-on for back-to-back wins.
