[Free Tips] Tips For Cheltenham Festival Day 2
The highlight of the second day of the 2020 Cheltenham Festival is the Queen Mother Champions Chase and Defi Du Seuil and Chacun Pour Soi have had their task made easier by the late withdrawal of Champion Altior.
Day two also features the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle and the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase, two races in which two of the biggest bankers of the week are set to run.

Sporting John and The Big Breakaway both bring huge potential and unbeaten records into this race and either or both could go right to the top as hurdlers or later as chasers. But neither’s form has the rock-solid look of Envoi Allen.
Gordon Elliott’s 6-year-old was backed off the boards to win last year’s Cheltenham Festival bumper and it’s worth remembering he had the subsequently unbeaten Thyme Hill behind him in third that day, whilst yesterday’s Supreme Novice Hurdler winner Abacadbras was back in fourth.

A small injury means Altior doesn’t line up to try and win a hat-trick of Queen Mother Champion Chases, and this year’s field is now down to six-runners. Despite that, Bun Doran, Sceaux Royal, Politologue, and Dynamite Dollars looks sure to need the two market leaders Defi Du Seuil and Chacun Pour Soi to underperform.
Defi Du Seuil has been backed into favouritism and it’s easy to see why on the back of three impressive wins this season. But his two defeats of the subsequently retired and ageing Un Des Sceaux may have flattered him slightly, and it’s worth remembering that horse had been beaten at the last couple of Festivals.

Former Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up is an interesting runner in this cross-country chase, whilst Easyland is another interesting contender having been purchased by JP McManus after the French-raider won easily over course and distance in December. But the horse that will raise the roof if he wins is Tiger Roll.
