Free Tips For This Weekend’s Top Footy Matches
This excitement of this season’s Premier League doesn’t let up this weekend with Liverpool desperate to win the latest renewal of the Merseyside derby to maintain their slender advantage at the top of the table. There’s also more thrilling derby action as Tottenham host Arsenal in the North London derby in a match that could be crucial in determining which European competition both teams will play in next season.
There’s also action from the other end of the table as Brighton try and distance themselves from the drop zone as they take on bottom club Huddersfield. Check out our analysis and free tips for this weekend’s top footy matches.
Tottenham vs Arsenal (Saturday 12.30)
The latest edition of the North London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal should be a great way to kick-off the weekend’s Premier League football, as the result is likely to have a major impact on both team’s chances of playing Champions League football next season.
Successive away defeats against Burnley and Chelsea have seen Tottenham fall out of the race for the Premier League title, and an Arsenal victory here would see The Gunners move within a point of their London rivals.
The problem for Arsenal fans is their team’s away form has been very poor recently, with their 2-1 win at Huddersfield being their first away win in the league since November. The run that preceded that also included defeats to poorer teams than Tottenham including West Ham and Southampton.
Tottenham have also rediscovered their best home form of late, with consecutive wins over Borussia Dortmund, Leicester, Newcastle, and Watford, following defeats by Manchester United and Wolves. The big questions is – have Tottenham got the bottle?
Ultimately, this is a match that both teams need to win and that may mean they decide to do what they do best – attack. If that’s the case, the number of goals could easily equal the six scored in the league match at The Emirates earlier this season.
Arsenal’s other away matches against top-six sides have also produced plenty of goals, including six against Liverpool and four against both Manchester teams – and that makes anything around 6/4 for more than 3.5 goals look the value bet.

Brighton vs Huddersfield (Saturday 3.00)
At first glance, a home match against the bottom club looks a great chance for Brighton to nudge themselves a little further away from the relegation zone, but past results between the two teams don’t back that up.
Huddersfield held Brighton to a 1-1 draw in this fixture last season and won their home match 2-0. Brighton also looked lucky to win 2-1 at Huddersfield this season, as they were 1-0 down before a red card turned the match in their favour. Despite that, the fact that Huddersfield haven’t scored in their last five away games makes it hard to fancy the away team for win purposes.
Brighton also aren’t exactly prolific in front of goal, and they’ve scored no more than one goal in any of their last five Premier League matches. That makes odds-against for less than 1.5 goals look worth a better punt than trying to pick the winner.

Everton vs Liverpool (Sunday 4.15)
Jurgen Klopp may have lost his temper after Liverpool failed to beat Manchester United last weekend but a 5-0 win over Watford should have calmed him down. It also helped Liverpool improve their goal difference, something which could yet be a deciding factor in their title race with Manchester City.
Klopp will be hoping for another three points in this weekend’s Merseyside derby, but Liverpool’s away form must be a worry for him. A battling 1-0 win over Brighton is their only win in their last four away games, and it was sandwiched between a defeat by Manchester City and a draw against West Ham. Goodison Park hasn’t exactly been Liverpool’s happiest hunting ground in recent seasons either.
The trouble with wanting to take Liverpool on is Everton’s recent poor home form, with four defeats in their last five games at Goodison Park posing a big question as to whether the current Everton side can raise its game to compete with the current Liverpool team – even if this is the Merseyside derby.
One thing that recent stats suggest is that this won’t be a high-scoring match, with last year’s renewal ending 0-0, while Liverpool only managed to win 1-0 at Anfield this season.
It’s certainly easy to imagine the mean Liverpool defence keeping Everton out, and it could be that Liverpool will be happy to try and win this by the odd goal or two. That means it could be worth backing Liverpool to win to nil at odds against.
