Liverpool have the chance to pull three-points clear in the Premier League Title Race this weekend, but they’ll have to beat an in-form Manchester United at Old Trafford to do it.
It should be a great match, with United also desperate to take three points to cement their position in fourth place, which would guarantee them a Champions League spot for next season.
A win for United would also give Tottenham a great chance of climbing to within two points of both Manchester City and Liverpool if they can win at Burnley.

Burnley vs Tottenham (Saturday 12.30)
Tottenham get to lay down a marker first when they travel to Burnley for the Saturday lunchtime kick-off and it should be a fixture they’re looking forward to after winning the corresponding fixture in the last two seasons 0-2 and 0-3. They also beat Burnley 1-0 earlier this season at Wembley.
Despite their injury list, which includes Harry Kane, Tottenham have won their last four games, scoring three goals in their last two games against Borussia Dortmund and Leicester. Those four matches were all at home, but they have also won their last four away games in the Premier League against Fulham, Cardiff, Everton, and Leicester.
If there’s a worry for Tottenham, it’s that Burnley are unbeaten in their last seven Premier League games, with their last four home games producing three wins and a draw. Burnley will no doubt draw plenty of confidence from their recent run but their record against top-six sides this season has to be a worry for them. Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United have already visited Town Moor this season and left with all three-points after winning in convincing fashion, and it may be a case that Tottenham simply have too much class for Burnley.
But, as a punter, what really worries me about Tottenham is they have a bad habit of bottling it just as they get the chance to become genuine title challengers. That’s why I’m happy to take Tottenham on this weekend as, if they do feel the pressure, Burnley are certainly playing well enough to at least claim a draw.

Manchester United vs Liverpool (Sunday 2.05)
One of the biggest rivalries in football takes centre stage on Sunday just after 2pm and both teams have plenty to play for. Liverpool will return to the top of the Premier League table providing they avoid defeat, while United need to win to remain in an automatic Champions League spot for next season if Arsenal beat Southampton in a match that kicks-off at the same time as this one.
It’s crunch time for Jurgen Klopp’s team and, after exits from the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, as well as being held to a 0-0 draw by Bayern Munich in the Champions League, there is a genuine danger that this could be another season without silverware for them.
Old Trafford hasn’t been a particularly happy hunting ground for Liverpool either but United’ recent home results, such as defeat by PSG and their home draw against Burnley, highlight that Old Trafford isn’t yet a fortress under new manager Solskjaer. Indeed, Brighton, Bournemouth, and Huddersfield have all found the net, despite losing to Solskjaer’s new-look United side.
There is a danger that Klopp might set his Liverpool team up defensively, as he knows a draw is good enough to take his team back to the top of the table. However, the gut-feeling is Solskjaer will be looking to entertain the Old Trafford faithful in his first match in charge of Liverpool which will, hopefully, lead to a pulsating end-to-end match. It’s hard to predict which team will win if that scenario prevails but both teams are fancied to find the net, which has also happened in the last two meetings.
