Manchester City may only need a point to seal top spot in Group F of the Champions League, but Tottenham and Liverpool still have plenty of work on their hands if they’re to progress to the Champions League knockout stages. Tottenham must win in Barcelona to progress, whilst Liverpool need to beat Napoli by at least two goals to make sure they book their ticket in the next round. We’ve free tips for all three matches.
Barcelona vs Tottenham (Tuesday 8.00)
Tottenham looked down and out after three games in Group B of the Champion League but wins over PSV and Inter Milan now leaves them with a sporting chance of progressing to the knockout stages – if they achieve the not so small matter of beating Barcelona at the Nous Camp. Tottenham will have to try and win the game too, as it’s hard to see PSV finding enough to beat Inter Milan in Italy in the other Group B game. Despite no wins in their last three games, Inter Milan have already beaten PSV away from home in the group and the best-price you can have about an Inter win is 4/11.
Tottenham fans will point to the fact Barcelona were beaten at home 4-3 by Real Betis in November, but that only seems to have spurred Barcelona on and they are unbeaten in their last four matches in all competitions. However, with top spot in Group B wrapped up, there must be a question as to whether Barcelona will go all out to win this game with other big matches on the horizon.
However, this could be a game where trying to pick the winner is best avoided as, though Tottenham have the bigger motivation, they were readily outclassed by Barcelona at Wembley earlier in the season. That score-line, as well as Barcelona’s 5-1 against Real Madrid, the match against Real Betis, and the fact Barcelona have scored four goals in both their last two matches, suggest there should be plenty of goals with both teams preferring an attacking policy to a defensive one. So, at odds against, I’m recommending a punt on more than 3.5 goals.

Liverpool vs Napoli (Tuesday 8.00)
Just like Tottenham, Liverpool also have their Champions League destiny in their own hands and they know they must beat Napoli by two goals or more, assuming PSG land odds of 1/5 against Red Star Belgrade. That won’t be easy, but Liverpool have at least found their shooting boots in their last two games against Burnley and Bournemouth, whilst four clean-sheets in six games also bodes well for their chances.
If you think Liverpool can achieve their goal of reaching the knockout stages, the most likely score-lines are 2-0 and 3-1 and it could be worth splitting your stakes on those two outcomes.

Manchester City vs Hoffenheim (Wednesday 8.00)
Manchester City may have surrendered top spot in the Premier League with defeat at Chelsea on Saturday, but Pep Guardiola is unlikely to want to suffer the same fate in Group F of the Champions League by losing to Hoffenheim.
City actually only need a draw to be assured of finishing top of Group F but, as City are best going forward, it’s hard to see them playing for a draw. Indeed, as the better team, City are fancied to cruise to an easy win, and 3-0 looks like the sort of score-line they can wrap the group with without expending too much energy before Saturday’s important home match against Everton.
