Spain technically need two-points to wrap up victory in Group A4 of the UEFA Nations League. However, a draw against England on Monday 15 October will probably do the job, because of the fact they beat Croatia 6-0 in the opening exchanges. A point for England could also be a big help in England’s battle to remain part of the A Groups for the next UEFA Nations League, if England can also avoid losing to Croatia in their final match.
The problem for England is, the new-look Spanish team doesn’t look in the mood to give any team an easy ride, a point proved with a 4-1 friendly win against Wales, whilst England again struggled to find the net against Croatia, despite creating numerous chances.
Gareth Southgate also has some difficult decisions to make before announcing his team. He must first decide who replaces the suspended John Stones and Jordan Henderson. Meanwhile, will Southgate be tempted to rest the out-of-sorts Harry Kane?
Those decisions aren’t the real problem England face though, with the Spanish midfield likely to just be far too classy for whatever combination of midfielders Southgate picks. The weight of expectation on Harry Kane to score is also far too much and, whilst Spain’s goals can come from a variety of players and positions, England’s other midfielders and strikers seem to struggle to score against top-class opposition.
All in all, it’s hard to make a case for any result but a Spanish win. Not only has Luis Enrique’s side already beaten England at Wembley with the minimum of fuss, but their confidence continues to grow. Meanwhile, England’s main attacker is struggling for form, and England will be missing a key defender and a key midfielder. So, even for England fans, it could be time to put patriotism aside for one night only and have a decent punt on Spain.

Spain vs England Correct Score Market
Whilst there are question marks over England’s ability to score, Spain have a habit of conceding goals more often than they keep clean sheets. Iran and Croatia may have failed to breach the Spanish defence, but Portugal (three), Morocco (two), Russian, Wales and, of course, England have all found the net in Spain’s last seven games.
The problem for England is the Spanish players have been finding the net with ruthless efficiency recently, with a total of 12 goals in their last three games. Meanwhile, England have failed to score more than once in their last five games, though they’ve conceded no more than twice. They may here though and, with England having to plug holes in defence and midfield, Spain are fancied to win 3-1 at attractive odds.

Spain vs England Anytime Goalscorer Market
If England are to score against Spain, it may well be Marcus Rashford that finds the net. Admittedly, he wasn’t at his best against Croatia, but he was the only English player to find the net against Spain and Switzerland. The young Manchester United starlet is also the one England player with the real ability to conjure up a goalscoring chance on his own and he looks a fair price in the anytime goalscorer market.
It could also be worth backing a couple of Spanish players to score at any time, with Saul Niguez scoring against both Croatia and England in his last three matches, whilst Sergio Ramos has scored in both of Spain’s last two matches against Wales and Croatia.
