The Allianz Stadium is the venue for Tuesday night’s (March 12) Champions League round-of-16 second-leg match between Juventus and Atletico Madrid, with the Italian’s looking to overturn a 2-0 deficit after their defeat in Spain in the first-leg.
Juventus look sure to get their name on the Serie A trophy one more this season but, after the signing of Christiano Ronaldo over the summer, it is the Champions League Trophy they really wanted to win. However, Atletico are sandwiched between Barcelona and Real Madrid in La Liga and would probably give Juventus a run for their money if they played in Serie A.

Juventus Home Form
Juventus come into this match having won their last four Serie A matches including winning their last two home games 4-1 and 3-0, and either of those score-lines would be enough to see them progress into the semi-finals.
However, their home form in the Champions League has been far from convincing so far this season. They started with a 3-0 win over Young Boys of Berne, but only managed to beat Valencia 1-0, whilst they lost 2-1 at home to Manchester United.

Atletico Madrid Away Form
Successive defeats against Real Betis and Real Madrid at the beginning of February seems to have jolted Atletico into overdrive again as they’ve won their last five games in all competitions, including away matches at Rayo Vallecano and Real Sociedad.
What will have pleased manager Diego Simeone most about his team’s recent run is they’ve kept five consecutive clean sheets. In fact, only two teams in La Liga have put three goals past Atletico’s mean defence all season.
Atletico also managed to keep a clean sheet against Club Brugge in the Champions League, whilst a 2-1 win in Monaco was another good result. However, Juventus will take some hope from Borussia Dortmund’s 4-0 home win over Atletico in the group stages.
Juventus vs Atletico Madrid Head-To-Heads
Juventus fans will be disappointed when they look at past head-to-heads between the two sides as Atletico have very much had the upper-hand so far.
The pair met in the 2014 Champions League group stages, with Atletico winning their home match 1-0 and holding Juventus to a 0-0 draw in Italy. Of course, Atletico also won their home match in this tie 2-0.
Juventus vs Atletico Madrid Team News
Juventus will have to do without Alex Sandro as the Brazilian is suspended but Massimiliano Allegri will welcome back Christiano Ronaldo, Leonardo Bonucci, Mario Mandzukc, and Giorgio Chiellini after he rested them against Udinese on Friday.
Atletico will have to do without Douglas Costa and Juan Cuadrado because of injury, whilst Simeone will be hoping that Godin passes a late fitness test and can take his place at the heart of the Atletico defence.
However, Atletico will also have to do without the suspended pair of Diego Costa and Thomas Partey but should be able to rely on Thomas Lemar and Alvaro Morata to replace them.
Juventus vs Atletico Madrid Prediction
There were some major shocks in last week’s Champions League matches and, though we were sweet on Tottenham’s chances of winning in Dortmund, wins for Ajax and Manchester United were more unexpected. That’s one reason why anything around 5/1 about a win for Atletico Madrid here could be worth chancing.
This match could be played very much to suit the Spanish side too, as Juventus will have to attack, and there’s probably no better team in Europe that Atletico at soaking up pressure and hitting teams on the break. They’re also unbeaten in three games against Juventus.
