It promises to be an exciting match and you can check out our stats, analysis, and free tips for Borussia
Dortmund vs Tottenham.
Borussia Dortmund Home Form
Dortmund’s home form is the main reason why they top the Bundesliga this season. They’ve won 10 of their 12 matches and drawn the other two to claim 32 points out of a possible 36.
They’ve also been solid at home in the Champions League, winning their first two home matches in the group stage 3-0 against Monaco and 4-0 against Atletico Madrid before drawing 0-0 against Club Brugge. That goalless draw is the only time they’ve failed to score at home this season and they’ve managed to score the four or more goals they’ll need to win this match on five occasions.
Tottenham’s Away Form
The biggest worry for Tottenham coming into this match is that they’ve lost their last four away games in all competitions, even if losing score-lines of 2-0, 2-1, 2-0, and 2-1 would be good enough for them to progress to the Champions League quarter-finals.
A repeat of any of Tottenham’s Champions League away performances in the group stages would also be sufficient, which included draws against Barcelona and PSV and an unlucky 2-1 defeat to Inter Milan.
Indeed, only Wolves (3-1), Arsenal (4-2), and Barcelona (4-2) have managed to breach Tottenham’s defence three times or more in a match this season, and even any of those score-lines would be good enough to see Tottenham into the next round.
Tottenham have also failed to score just four times this season and a goal for the away team here would leave Dortmund needing to score five goals.
Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham Head-To-Heads
The two teams have met several times in Europe over the last three seasons, starting in the Europa League in 2016. Dortmund won both matches on that occasion, 3-0 at home and 2-1 away.
They next met in the 2017/18 Champions League, with Tottenham winning 3-1 at home and 2-1 in Dortmund.
Tottenham then continued that winning run with their 3-0 home victory against Dortmund this season.
Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham Team News
Dortmund will again have to do without the side-lined Lukas Piszeck but will be hopeful that Christian Pulsisic and Marcel Schmelzer will pass fitness tests. Marco Reus could also return after reportedly recovering from a thigh strain.
Dele Alli and Eric Dier are back in training for Tottenham but are unlikely to be pitched into the heat of the battle from the off, whilst Harry Winks remains doubtful after a hip injury stopped him lining up against Arsenal at the weekend.
Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham Outright Tip
Despite solid seasons so far, both teams come into this match in, arguably, their worst form of the season. Dortmund have won just one of their last six games and, whilst four of those were away matches, their form must be a worry even with home advantage.
Tottenham’s form is also a concern, as they’ve picked up just one point from their last three games and have seen their Premier League title aspirations disappear.
The good news for Tottenham is that Dortmund have no option but to attack, as they need to score at least three goals, which should leave plenty of space for Tottenham’s more than capable forward line-up to get amongst the goals.
Indeed, if Tottenham can weather the early pressure that will surely come from Dortmund, the tactics of this match could play right into their hands. Tottenham have also won their last three matches against Dortmund and look value to make it four.

Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham Correct Score Tip
There have been at least three goals in 13 of Dortmund’s 15 Bundesliga and Champions League home games this season and the fact that Dortmund need to score at least three goals here suggests that there will be plenty of goals.
They may not all come from the German side, as Tottenham will surely look to get an invaluable away goal early on, but it will be a major surprise if this is a low-scoring match. The last four matches between the two teams have also produced at least three goals.
