[Free Tips For 3rd June] Kempton Horse Racing Tips

Kempton’s popular all-weather track has already staged one post-lockdown meeting, but the card for Wednesday 3rd June is a higher-class affair featuring both the Group 3 Unibet Classic Trial Stakes and the Listed EBF/Unibet Fillies’ Stakes.

Check out our trends, analysis, and free tips for Kempton.

Unibet Classic Trial Stakes Analysis

14:45 at Kempton Racecourse on 3rd June

Runners for this Group 3 contest have normally had the chance to have a prep run or two, but that hasn’t stopped five of the previous nine winners taking the honours on their seasonal debut.

Some powerful stables are represented in the contest, including Ralph Beckett who saddles two horses. However, he probably wishes he could swap the draw for his runners who are drawn 1 and 10. Last year’s Zetland Stakes winner Max Vega is the one that has got the outside draw, and it may be that Chamade isn’t good enough to win from her inside stall.

Born To Sea for the stable of Wiliam Haggas is another with huge potential, but it’s hard to know how good the form of her win over a mile on heavy ground was, especially as she was allowed to go off at 20/1 that day. A draw in stall 8 also isn’t ideal.

Hypothetical from the John Gosden yard is drawn in stall-7, but this expensive son of Lope De Vega commands plenty of respect after a winning debut. Gosden has also saddled three of the last six winners of this race. The well-bred Bright Light is another winner of his only race, and Godolphin has also targeted this race successfully in the past.

An each-way bet on Berlin Tango could be the play for the in-form yard of Andrew Balding, as he promises to be suited by the step up to this trip for the first time. He also ran just before lockdown and could enjoy a slight fitness edge over his rivals.

EBF/Unibet Fillies’ Stakes Analysis

15:45 at Kempton Racecourse on 3rd June

The draw provides an interesting trend for this Listed race with eight of the nine winners coming from either stalls 4, 5 or 6, in field sizes ranging from 9 to 14 runners. Eight of the nine winners have also been 4-year-olds.

The 116-rated Billesdon Brook must be of interest from stall-4, especially as she won the 1,000 Guineas as a 3-year-old. However, she’s now aged 5 and she normally comes on for her first run of the season. However, the case for backing Billesdon Brook is strengthened by the wide draws of the fancied pair, Nazeef and Natalie’s Joy.

Scentasia is drawn just lower than ideal in stall-3 but I wouldn’t let that put you off backing this John Gosden-trained filly if you fancy here. She won well from a wide draw at Lingfield when last seen and this strong-travelling type should go well.

An each-way nod goes to Romola in stall-6. She does have a bit to find on the ratings, but this daughter of Pivotal is just the type that trainer Sir Michael Stoute improves massively from three to four.
