There are some interesting Premier League matches on Sunday, with both Arsenal and Manchester United hoping to keep up their challenge for a Champions League spot for next season. Arsenal look to have the easier task on paper with a home game against Crystal Palace, whilst United must travel to Goodison Park to face an Everton side that is finishing the season in fine style.
There’s also a massive match between Cardiff and Liverpool, with Cardiff desperately trying to avoid the dreaded drop, whilst Liverpool will be looking to keep the pressure on current Premier League leaders Manchester City by claiming all three points.
Check out our stats, analysis, and free tips for Everton vs Manchester United, Arsenal vs Crystal Palace, and Cardiff vs Liverpool.
Everton vs Manchester United (1.30)
Manchester United started so quickly after Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s appointment as manager, it’s perhaps not that surprising they appear to have run out of steam. However, after four straight defeats on their travels, at the hands of Barcelona, Wolves (twice) and Arsenal, a trip to Goodison Park probably doesn’t look that appetising to the Old Trafford faithful.
United did win their last season, but Everton have hit a decent run of form and a 0-0 draw against Merseyside rivals Everton has been followed by wins to nil over Chelsea and Arsenal.
That makes Everton interesting outsiders. However, as only one team has scored in eight of Everton’s last nine matches, odds-against for no in the both-teams-to-score market smacks of value.
Arsenal vs Crystal Palace (4.00)
The last few three matches between Arsenal and Crystal Palace have been thrillers that have ended 2-2, 2-3, and 4-1.
However, the recent form of both teams suggests a similar result in this Sunday’s match would be something of a shock, with Crystal Palace losing 2-0 to Tottenham in their latest London Derby.
Arsenal’s recent run of six wins in seven games has also seen the Gunners put more emphasis on defence than earlier in the season. They’ve won their last four home matches to nil against Napoli, Newcastle, Rennes, and Manchester United, whilst they’ve also won their last two away games 1-0 against Watford and Napoli.
Arsenal are actually going for their eleventh successive home win in the Premier League and as odds of 1/2 for an Arsenal win aren’t that exciting, it could be worth chancing bigger odds about Arsenal winning to nil.
Cardiff vs Liverpool (4.00)
Cardiff earned themselves a genuine survival lifeline with their win at Brighton last weekend but, despite some valiant efforts, they’ve yet to win a single point against top-six opposition this season. However, they have scored at home against Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea.
It’s hard to argue with quotes of 2/9 for a Liverpool win and it will be a major surprise if they don’t claim all three points as they look to maintain their Premier league title challenge. They’ve beaten Porto 1-4, Southampton 1-3, Fulham 1-2, and Bayern Munich 1-3 in their last four away games and Cardiff are surely up against it.
However, with no expectation on their shoulders, Cardiff may decide to have a go at Liverpool and it’s interesting that Liverpool have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last four away games. That makes anything around 2/1 about a Liverpool win and both teams to score look an interesting price.
