If there’s been a more mesmerising start to a Premier League season, I can’t remember it. We’re nine games into the 2018/19 season and five of the perceived big-six clubs are separated by just two points. There’s no surprise that pre-season favourites Manchester City are top on goal-difference from second-favourites Liverpool, but it’s a bit of a surprise that Chelsea and Arsenal have both started the season so well under new management, whilst Tottenham are also in the hunt, despite not buying any new players in the close season.
However, the form of these five clubs has given football punters plenty of food for thought in the opening exchanges, as backing them in singles or accas (when possible) is showing a tasty profit. Therefore, we’re taking a look at all the top Premier League matches on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
Liverpool vs Cardiff (Saturday 15.00)
Cardiff showed they are capable of scoring goals when bagging four against Fulham last weekend to register their first Premier League win of the season. However, having conceded five against Manchester City and four against Chelsea already this season, it’s not hard to see the high-class Liverpool forward line-up finding the net multiple times. Liverpool will surely win but, for those that think it will be a landslide, Liverpool have failed to score more than once in their last three Premier League matches. What could be decisive, is that Liverpool have yet to concede at home in the Premier League this season. Therefore, backing Liverpool to win to nil could be the answer.

Burnley vs Chelsea (Sunday 13.30)
Burnley enjoyed a stellar season last season but, this season, Town Moor has been anything but a fortress with Manchester United and Watford plundering three points each, whilst even Huddersfield went home with a point. That could spell trouble for Burnley, as Chelsea have won three of their four away games this season, and Burnley probably need Chelsea to be as poor in front of goal as they were at West Ham. However, it’s worth remembering that Chelsea also won the corresponding fixture last season. Chelsea are fancied to keep up their title challenge by claiming three points, but it might be a lot closer than the odds suggest, with 2-1 the fancied score-line.

Crystal Palace vs Arsenal (Sunday 1.30)
Arsenal have been electric in recent second-halves against Leicester and Fulham, and the Arsenal players really seem to be enjoying playing for new manager Unai Emery. Mezut Ozil was truly world-class against Leicester and, if he’s in the same form against Crystal palace, it’s doubtful whether Roy Hodson’s Crystal Palace side will be able keep the Gunners at bay as they go for an eleventh straight win in all competitions. Palace are also struggling for confidence after three consecutive defeats sees them languishing in fifteenth position. The outright odds for Arsenal are bigger than anticipated, but the value-bet may be in the half-time/full-time market, with a draw at half-time and Arsenal to be winning at full-time.

Tottenham vs Man City (Monday 20.00)
Manchester City may be top of the table but, with so many other big teams doing well, City’s superiority has gone a little unnoticed. They may be equal on points with Liverpool, but their goal difference is already 10 goals superior to their nearest rivals after just nine games, whilst it’s 14 goals better than this Monday’s rivals Tottenham. A similar City side also crushed a similar Tottenham side twice last season 3-1 and 4-1 and, with Tottenham having a tendency to concede against the big teams, there will be plenty of punters willing to take odds-on about City despite them being the away team. However, with the last three matches and 10 of the last 14 matches between the two sides producing more than 3.5 goals, odds against for more of the same looks the bet.
Tottenham vs Man City Free Tip: More than 3.5 goals @ 2.47 Unibet
Premier League Acca Tips
It doesn’t always pay to put one of the big teams in an acca when they’re playing one of the other big teams but, having highlighted Man City’s recent dominance over Tottenham, it could be worth including Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Man City in an acca this weekend:
