Free NBA Playoff Picks For Saturday 13th April

The NBA playoffs tips off with the Nets vs. 76ers. The Eastern Conference match up looks an even contest and Game 1 should prove telling in the final wash up.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Philadelphia 76ers @ Wells Fargo Center

Past Meetings And Form

Many bettors would assume the 76ers have the advantage in the regular season series but these two teams are 2-2.

Nets won the first and third game against the 76ers throughout the year and despite having a worse record (42-40) compared to the 51-31 of the 76ers, they have every chance to win this game.

For the 76ers, Joel Embiid has averaged 27.5 points per game this season and that’s a fair effort for a man of his size who doesn’t shoot the three ball.

Nets have been relying on team offense and with a 45-37 against the spread record, they’re a good chance to cause Philadelphia some problems on Saturday.

The 76ers should come away with the win but we like the Nets to cover the spread.
Bookmakers haven’t come up with a number yet but it should be around the +7/8 mark and we’ll take that.

Orlando Magic vs. Toronto Raptors @ Scotiabank Arena

#2 faces #7 in the east when the Magic face the impressive Raptors in Game 1 of the series.

Past Meetings And Form

Much like the Nets vs. 76ers series, the Magic and Raptors have split their four-game regular season record.

That goes to show how even the Eastern Conference is and only one of those games was close. The Raptors won by 12 points when they last met and the Magic won 113-98 at home prior to that.

Home court advantage will have a big bearing on this playoff series and having lost only nine times at home this season, the Toronto Raptors loom as good chances to go 1-0 up in the best of seven.

Bookmakers have set the line at 8.5 and that could make it tricky for bettors playing this game, however, the Raptors will want to make a statement here.

We think the Raptors will try to send a message to the likes of the Bucks and Celtics, that they’re a big threat for the Eastern Conference title.

LA Clippers vs. Golden State Warriors @ Oracle Arena

There will be plenty of points scored in this Clippers vs. Warriors series, which could be extended to five or six games if the best Clippers team shows up.

Past Meetings And Form

After dropping their first meeting to the Clippers 121-116, the Golden State Warriors have scored three consecutive wins.

One of those came by two points but the other two wins were one-sided, with wins coming by 18 and 27 points respectively.

This season hasn’t been an incredible one for the Warriors, but they often get much better come playoffs time and that’s what bettors are expecting here.

Clippers are talented on their day but they shouldn’t win more than two games in this series.

Game 1 gives both teams a chance to steal momentum for the rest of the series and we’re expecting the Warriors to come out firing, but not cover the spread.

12.5 points for the Clippers is too much to pass up in this situation.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Denver Nuggets @ Pepsi Center

Home court advantage is huge in this series, which should come down to either Game 6 or 7.

Past Meetings And Form

The series is tied at 2-2 during the regular season with both teams winning at home. That’s going to be crucial in this series, especially for the Denver Nuggets.

The Nuggets have dropped just seven games at Pepsi Center this season but they have looked anything but impressive on the road. Playing Game 1 at home will give them confidence going forward but it’s a lot of pressure knowing you need to protect home court.

Spurs have done well to make the finals once again, just when it looked like they wouldn’t at the start of the season. Their record on the road is average with a 16-25 record and that’s where this game will be won and lost.

Bookmakers have the line set at 5.5 and that’s generous in favor of Nuggets’ backers. They are tough to beat at home and given the confidence they have at Pepsi Center; we thought the line would be around 7/8.
Spurs will have their moments during the playoffs but we’re confident the Denver Nuggets will protect their home court as they have done throughout the regular season.

Nuggets should win Game 1 and look to maintain that one-game advantage throughout most of the series.
