Phoenix Suns v Cleveland Cavaliers might not be the headline game most fans were after but there’s value on offer for betting fans.
Phoenix Suns vs. Cleveland Cavaliers @ Quicken Loans Arena
The Suns and Cavaliers combined record is 23-94 so we understand that they’re looking more for a higher draft pick than they are to win the game, but the Cavaliers might have a little more emphasis to win.
Past Meetings and Stats
The past meetings between these two teams have been one-sided in recent times with the Cavs winning their last five against the Suns, but of course having LeBron James helped with that.
It’s clear the Suns are playing for a high draft pick as they have lost their last 15 games and despite being competitive in some of them, they are clearly instructed to give up in the second half.
Despite the Cavs also playing for a draft pick, they have score three wins from their last 10 games and that’s something to build on. Wins over Bulls, Wizards and Knicks has seen their record spring to 12-46.
Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr have had solid season and we’re expecting that to continue following the All Star break.
The Cavaliers have looked the much better team of late and they should have enough to beat the Suns, who will be doing everything possible to lose.
Bookmakers have the Cavs as –1.5 favorites and we would have to concur with that assessment. The Cavaliers should be at least two points better than the ailing Suns.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Brooklyn Nets @ Barclays Center
This should be an intriguing game between two sides that are meeting expectations this season. In fairness, the Nets are probably exceeding those expectations with a 30-29 record but Portland are right on track at 34-23.
Injuries to two key players for the Nets could have an impact on this game but recent form for both teams has been mixed and it should provide for a good game at Barclays Center.
Past Meetings and Stats
Portland has won five of the last six meetings against the Nets, including three away from home. Their recent form has been interesting as it includes losses to the Mavericks, Thunder and Heat, but also includes a win against the Warriors.
That win came just before the All Star break and it should give the Trail Blazers plenty of confidence as they look to improve their poor 10-15 record away from home.
Nets have been good at home with a 17-13 record and they’re coming off a triple overtime win over the Cavaliers. Injuries to Spencer Dinwiddle and Jared Dudley has seen their good start dwindle a touch but they’re still a solid unit and they could test the Trail Blazers here.
Portland needs to keep up with the Nuggets and Thunder in the Northwest standings and a win here would see them bridge the gap, which sits at five games back.
Brooklyn is 13 games back of Toronto in the Atlantic standings so we’re predicting a Portland victory here, based on their healthy squad and the recent win over the Warriors, which can only build confidence.

Boston Celtics vs. Milwaukee Bucks @ Fiserv Forum
This will be the game of the week as the Bucks host the Celtics for a battle of bragging rights.
There is so much at stake for the Celtics after questions were raised during the All Star break about the intentions of star point-guard Kyrie Irving. He is looking to leave the team at the end of the season and that has caused a divide in the team.
Meanwhile, the Bucks are going about their business with the “Greek Freak” doing damage to anyone that tries to stop him.
Past Meetings and Stats
This is the first meeting of 2019 but they met 10 times last season and it was a 5-5 split. They have shared wins this season, both coming at home for either side so there’s little separating their head-to-head form.
It’s Boston that has looked shaky this season and it’s not what was expected. They were expected to perform better than last season but their record and talent has regressed. Back-to-back losses to LA Lakers and LA Clippers have put them in a sticky situation.
The Bucks are rolling having won eight of their last 10 and Giannis Antetokounmpo is tearing through the league with 27.2 points per game.
It’s tough to back against the Celtics – as a fan, but the Bucks hold the aces here and we are happy with the points spread line of 5.5.
Bucks look good with a record of 43-14 and they are quickly becoming a serious title threat if they continue on their current path.
