Free NBA Picks For 14th March

Our quest to beat the bookies with these free NBA pick continues as we bet on three NBA games on Thursday 14th March.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder @ Chesapeake Energy Arena

The Nets have been rolling of late and they’re making a solid push for the Eastern Conference playoffs. The Thunder, on the other hand, were struggling to find form but they’re a quality unit and should give the Nets plenty to handle on Thursday.

Past Meetings And Stats

Nets and Thunder have played each other only once this season with the Thunder scoring a two-point win in December.

That doesn’t hold much bearing on this game as the season has progressed significantly since. The Nets are in better form with four consecutive wins over the likes of Mavericks, Cavaliers, Hawks and Pistons. Those wins weren’t against playoff teams but it will give the Nets confidence.

Thunder got back into their groove against the Jazz on Tuesday. Russell Westbrook almost average a triple-double for the game and it was enough to see the Thunder win 98-89.

The Thunder have dropped two recent home games to the 76ers and Kings, but they will be making sure they enter the final stretch of the season with some momentum and scoring a win over the Nets is a must this Thursday.

We’re expecting bookmakers to set the line in the range of 7-8 points in favor of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Whilst they’re not playing their best basketball at the moment, Nets struggle on the road and the Thunder have won their last three home games against the Nets.

Take the Thunder minus the points spread as they should simply have too much scoring fire power for the visitors.

Detroit Pistons vs. Miami Heat @ American Airlines Arena

Both teams would have had high hopes for this season but it hasn’t quite eventuated for the Eastern Conference teams.

It would take some effort for either team to make the playoffs but desperation could make this a game worth watching and definitely worth betting on.

Past Meetings And Stats

Heat won the first meetings against the Pistons this season but Detroit has taken both games in 2019. They scored a 98-93 win in Detroit before travelling to Miami and scoring a comprehensive 119-96 win.
That was when the Pistons were going well this season but they looked horrible against the Nets when scoring only 75 points and going down by 28 points. That doesn’t hold them in good stead here and the Heat, despite losing their last game, is a team in form.

The Heat lost to the Raptors 125-104 earlier this week but they had won their previous four games, with wins coming over the Nets, Hawks, Hornets and Cavaliers.

Miami has a losing record at American Airlines Arena but they are a tough unit to beat on their day and we’re loving the play from Dwayne Wade this season.

There won’t be much between the two Eastern Conference sides this Thursday but we’re giving the slight edge to the Miami Heat.

They have been playing inspired basketball of late and they could look to capitalize on the poor play that Detroit showed against Brooklyn on Tuesday.

Golden State Warriors vs. Houston Rockets @ Toyota Center

This could be an early look at the Western Conference finals as the Warriors take on the Rockets in what should be a great showdown.

Both teams possess the talent to go all the way this season and the winner will have bragging rights heading into the playoffs.

Past Meetings And Stats

It’s strange to see the Golden State Warriors losing in a head-to-head matchup against any team but they have lost their last three against the Rockets.

That’s not good news for the struggling Warriors, which remain NBA premiership favorites but that’s based on reputation and certainly not on recent form, where they have lost four of their last six and six of their last 10.

It has been a different story for the Rockets, which have been jet-propelled of late, scoring wins at their last nine games. Those wins have come over the likes of the Warriors, Celtics, Raptors and 76ers. They are starting to put it all together and without injury, this could be their year.
James Harden has been incredible and should be in line for regular season MVP honors.

It’s never easy to bet against the Warriors but Houston is playing too well at the moment and all the momentum is with the home side.

They will have a roaring crowd behind them and given their deadly shooting from outside the arc, Rockets could extend their winning streak to 10 on the back of quality play from Harden, Gordon and Clint Capela in the paint.
