With no really big races on the weekend before Royal Ascot, I’m bringing you some York Race Tips, specifically the 3.10, where 10 runners go to post for a one-mile listed race.
So without further ado let’s pick out some top racing tips for today :
Returns to turf after 7 run on artificial surfaces but, though he boasts a victory over another one of his rivals, he is the joint lowest rated horse in the field.
Won his only course and distance start when winning this in 2013, and looks to have been aimed at the contest again after a creditable 4th over 7-furlongs in a group 3 contest on his latest run.
Could finish only 6th of 7 on his first try over course and distance, and mainly runs over a longer trip nowadays.
Joint lowest rated and has often looked a shade short of class when stepping-up from handicaps.
One to bear in mind if the rain comes, but only if it turns soft.
Ran at excellent race to be fourth in a course and distance handicap on his last start, but has yet to win in four runs at the track, and will probably find at least a couple too good.
Hors De Combat
Second highest rated in the field but his best runs have both been at Newmarket, though the Fanshawe stable are showing definite signs of life at the moment with 2 winners from its last 6 runners.
Top Notch Tonto
Finished 3/3/2 in three course runs and would appreciate any softening of the ground. Jockey Silvestre De Sousa has won on him, whilst trainer Brian Ellison has had 2 winers from his last 8 runners.
Beay Hors De Combat by a head on his penultimate run but has not been seen since last September after disappointing on his last run, which casts a shadow over him on his seasonal debut.
Officially top-rated after some good runs in top contests last year. Last in the Lockinge, his inform trainer William Haggs tries him in blinkers in this much lesser contest.
Today’s Racing Tip
With plenty of rain forecast in York, I’m taking a chance on Top Notch Tonto who has yet to run a bad race at the track and could enjoy trying to dominate in a field with few obvious front-runners.
1 point each-way Top Notch Tonto @ 14/1 (Coral) 1/4 odds 1-2-3
Remember to take a look at Big Race Bookie Busters, today I’ve shared three selections, one each from Sandown, York and Musselburgh :
