Your FA Cup Third Round Free Acca

It’s the third round of the FA Cup this weekend, which means the Premier League teams join the action along with all the lower league teams that have survived the first two rounds. So, we’ve decided to go for an eight-fold FA Cup Acca. Read on for analysis and best odds.

West Brom vs Wigan (Saturday 12.30)

A great opportunity for one of these Championship sides to progress to the fourth round, but it’s West Brom that are a strong fancy to do so. West Brom are fourth in the Championship Table, whilst Wigan are struggling just one place above the relegation zone. Wigan have also struggled on their travels this season, losing all but three of their away matches.

Admittedly, West Brom have drawn three of their last four home games, but the one team they did beat in that mini-run was Wigan. The score was 2-0 that day and there’s no reason why West Brom shouldn’t repeat that result and earn a place in the fourth round.

Burnley vs Barnsley (Saturday 12.30)

There’s a chance that both Burnley and Barnsley will be playing in The Championship next season, with Burnley heavily involved in the Premier League relegation battle and Barnsley currently in the play-off positions in League One. That means there’s a danger the FA Cup won’t head either team’s list of priorities, especially as both teams suffered early exits from the Carabao Cup earlier in the season.

However, for now at least, there looks to be a big gulf in class between the Premier League team and the League One team, and generous slight odds-on prices about a Burnley win earn Burnley a place in this weekend’s FA Cup acca.

Bournemouth vs Brighton (Saturday 12.30)

Bournemouth sit just one point and one place above Brighton in the Premier League Table, and it’s possible to argue Brighton come into this match in better form after taking five points from their last three matches against West Ham, Everton, and Arsenal. However, Bournemouth’s run of five defeats in seven matches isn’t as bad as it looks, as those five defeats came against Liverpool, Wolves, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Manchester United.

Sandwiched in the middle of those runs is also a 2-0 home win over Brighton. Bournemouth did need extra-time to get past Brighton in last season’s Carabao Cup, but look ready to make the most of home advantage having won three home games in this season’s Carabao Cup before losing to Chelsea in the quarter-finals.

Accrington vs Ipswich (Saturday 3.00)

With just two wins in 26 league games in the Championship so far this season, Ipswich look like a team that could be vulnerable playing away against a team like Accrington that sits mid-table in League One. Add in the fact Ipswich are currently plagued with injuries, and have exited at the third round of the FA Cup for the last eight seasons, and Accrington looks worth including at odds-against to hopefully add some weight to the cumulative odds of this weekend’s FA Cup acca.

Add in the Top Premier League Teams

The gulf in class between the top Premier League teams and the rest has grown over the last few year, and FA Cup giant-killings aren’t as common as they used to be. As the top teams have so many fronts to fight on, it also seems likely that the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester City won’t want the hassle of any replays at this early stage of the competition.

Therefore, if you want to boost your acca odds even more, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester City are fancied to respectively beat Reading, Nottingham Forest, Blackpool, and Rotherham.
