Who’s Going To Claim The Champions League Hit-Spots

Chelsea and Tottenham continue to go head-to-head for the Premier League Title, and both face dangerous teams in Everton and Arsenal this weekend. However, the race for the other two Champions League Spots is just as interesting, and we’ve also got analysis and tips for Middlesbrough vs Manchester City and Watford vs Liverpool.

Everton vs Chelsea (Sunday 2.05)

There will probably be plenty of takers about the 11/10 for a Chelsea win, especially as the league-leaders won the reverse fixture 5-0 earlier in the season. However, Goodison Park hasn’t been a happy hunting ground in the last 2 seasons having lost 2-0 and 3-1. I don’t have an overly strong-opinion on who will win the game, but I do think it’s interesting that 3 of the last 4 head-to-heads have produced more than 3.5 goals. Add in the fact that 3 of Chelsea’s last 4 games have also produced more than 3.5 goals, as have 4 of Everton’s last 6 games – and it’s easy to make a case for backing more than 3.5 goals at 21/10.

Middlesbrough vs Manchester City (Sunday 2.05)

The two teams have already met twice this season, with the reverse fixture ending in a 1-1 draw, whilst Manchester City won here 2-0 in the sixth round of the FA Cup. Neither team is exactly looking solid at the moment, though Middlesbrough have nothing to lose by going for it. However, if they do go for it, City are capable of exploiting the gaps, and a 2-0 score-line makes plenty of appeal at 7/1.

Tottenham vs Arsenal (Sunday 4.30)

Tottenham probably need to win if they’re to have any chance of winning a first Premier League Title, whilst Arsenal also probably need to win if they’re to have any chance of playing in next season’s Champions League. However, no matter their positions in recent seasons, this fixture has a habit of being a draw. 4 of their last 6 head-to-heads have been draws, including the last 3, and 3/1 for a draw looks more than generous.

Watford vs Liverpool (Monday 8.00)

Liverpool have beaten Watford 6-1 and 2-0 at home since Watford beat them 3-0 at home last season. However, Liverpool have won just one of their last eight Premier League away games, whilst Watford have won their last 3 home games, be them only against Swansea, West Brom and Sunderland. Therefore, the value-bet looks to be laying Liverpool at around 1.58.
