The Last Hurrah – Premier League Betting

The last matches of the 2015/16 Premier League season are upon us and, though we know that Leicester are champions, and Villa, Norwich and Newcastle are relegated, there are still two age-old bitter rivalries still scrapping it out for supremacy.
Premier League

The first is Spurs and Arsenal, who are fighting it out for second and third place, whilst Manchester City and Manchester United are fighting it out for the final Champions League spot for next season.

Therefore, we’ve got tips for Arsenal vs Aston Villa, Manchester United vs Bournemouth, Newcastle vs Spurs, and Swansea vs Manchester City – and all matches kick-off at 3pm on Sunday May 15th.

Arsenal vs Aston Villa

Villa managed to win this fixture in 2008, 2011 and 2013, but have been drubbed 4-0 and 5-0 on their last two trips to Arsenal (one in the FA Cup), whilst Arsenal also beat them 2-0 earlier in the season. Villa have failed to score in their last 4 away games, whilst Arsenal have kept a clean sheet in three of their last 4 home games – all pointing to an Arsenal win to nil.

Manchester United vs Bournemouth

Manchester United know they have to win to have any chance of being in the Champions League next season, and 6 wins and a draw against Champions Leicester in their last 7 home games suggests they’ll probably get it. However, Bournemouth will draw confidence from beating United earlier in the season, whilst they’ve also won 2 of their last 4 away games. Perhaps, more interestingly, United have scored in their last 7 home games, whilst Bournemouth have also scored in their last 5 games – and both teams to score looks a fair bet on that evidence.

Newcastle vs Spurs

Recent results between the two clubs are a little strange, as the away side has won the last 4 games, with Spurs winning the last two renewals of this fixture 3-1 and 4-0. However, they’ve not won any of their last 3 games, whilst Newcastle are unbeaten in their last 5. It may be Newcastle just roll over but, equally, some of their players may well be hoping to catch the eye of scouts, with a substitution in mind.

Swansea vs Manchester City

City might be hoping for an easy ride, but Swansea have beaten West Ham 4-1 and Liverpool 3-1 in their last 2 games. The last 2 renewals have also been high-scoring affairs with City winning 4-2 and 3-2. It’s only 11/8 that there are 4 goals or more – but it looks a fun bet with which to finish-off the season.
