Spurs Can Outgun The Gunners

The mid-week results again went Leicester’s way this week, and they’re fancied to press home their advantage by beating Watford this weekend. Meanwhile, the clash of the weekend looks to be Spurs vs Arsenal, whilst we’ve also got tips for Everton vs West Ham, and Crystal Palace vs Liverpool.

Premier League Betting Tips

Spurs vs Arsenal (Saturday 12.45)

Spurs may have squandered the opportunity to go top of the Premier League on Wednesday night, but the big question on everyone’s lips now is can they outgun the Gunners in the all-London Saturday lunchtime televised match?

This clash between two bitter rivals is always a hard-fought affair but, as both teams have a genuine chance of clinching the title this season, there should be maximum effort and plenty of fireworks to boot. However, although Arsenal have tended to finish above Spurs in the league most seasons, it is Spurs who have won 3 of the last 4 renewals of this fixture.

Their recent home record is also outstanding having won 4 of their last 5 home games, whilst they drew the other one with league leaders Leicester. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s away form has been very hit and miss in recent weeks with only 1 win in their last 5 away games.

Everton vs West Ham (Saturday 3.00)

Everton have won their last 3 home games against the Hammers, but on their overall form this season it is hard to see why they are trading at odds-on against a team that is 5 places and 8 points above them in the league, and whom beat Spurs on Wednesday night. Everton have also won only 1 of their last 4 home Premier League games – and look worth laying at the price.

Watford vs Leicester (Saturday 3.00)

The bookmakers seem to have overreacted to Leicester’s failure to bag three points against West Brom on Tuesday and, having won 2 of their 4 away games, they probably deserve to be no bigger than even-money to beat a Watford side who has won only 1 of its last 4 home games. Leicester also beat Watford 2-1 earlier in the season, and won this fixture 3-0 last time they met in the Championship.

Leicester win @ 6/4 (Various bookmakers)

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool (Sunday 1.30)

Backing a team that has lost its last 4 home games comes with an obvious risk, but they have beat Liverpool on 3 of the last 4 occasions they’ve met in the Premier League. Liverpool have also lost 2 of their last 4 away games, and may just be vulnerable after expending plenty of energy taking revenge on Manchester City on Wednesday night.

  1. Spurs v Arsenal should be an exciting game to watch, I could not say which side would come out on top, there has been some high scoring encounters down the years.
I do believe Leicester are overpriced, but wont find it easy against a Watford side that dominated Manchester United for much of the game only to be thwarted by an inspired De Gea, there should be plenty of goal mouth action in this one for both sides.
Everton are a short price, However, they have won 5out of their last 6, with 1 defeat in which they dominated against WBA, in fact they broke all records in that game for attempts on goal, with almost 80% possession, that was a 1 off, West Ham have always found it tough at Everton, and Everton could say there latest 6 game run is about changing to a flat back 4, and of more importance a change in keeper, they are pretty potent up front with 49 goals only Leicester with 51 can beat that. Since the changes at the back they have only conceded 2 in 6, Imo West Ham will have to core at least 2 to get something.
Crystal Palace v LFC, for me LFC can smell the possibilities of a CL spot, they rested some high profile players against City on Wednesday, and they could be very influential come Sunday, Sturridge and Coutinho could have a field day against a CP side who are in freefall over the last two months, they are conceding on average 2 a game in their last 9 PL games, they have not kept a clean sheet in the PL since boxing day, and have lost to Aston Villa. All in all I cant see them turning an LFC side coming into form, but good Luck with your selections, and hope some go for you. All the best.

  3. That was totally bizarre…a one sided game from 10 men for almost 65 mins, A ref that should not be in the Prem, and a team can be dominated and still win….EVERTON ARCHITECTS OF THEIR OWN DOWNFALL…on that performance they will tear Chelsea next week, given they have 11 men on the pitch…Most Bizarre result of the season, and ive seen some.

  4. Crystal Palace defending is woeful at times, its a good job they got off to a good start, or they could have been in big trouble.
