19th & 20th September Premier League Tips
The Premier League remains a pit of inconsistency for most teams so far, but we’ve again tried to dig some value out of this week’s statistics – and we’ve tips for 5 matches over the weekend.
Aston Villa vs WBA (Saturday 3.00)
Villa have won 4 of the last 6 renewals but haven’t won since the opening game of the season, whilst WBA have mustered 4 points from their 2 away games despite some disappointing home form. However, the most noticeable statistic from previous encounters is that both team have scored in the last 6 renewals of this match – and yet that’s odds-against to happen again.
Swansea vs Everton (Saturday 3.00)
Both teams have made a decent start to the campaign with two wins and two draws each in their first 5 games. However it is Everton who have the best record in this fixture with 2 wins and a draw in the last 4 renewals. They also look to be delivering on some of the promise recently, having not conceded a goal in two away games, and look worth a punt at 5/2.
Everton win @ 5/2 (BetVictor)
Man City vs West Ham (Saturday 3.00)
It’s hard to completely ignore the fact that West Ham have beaten Arsenal and Liverpool on their travels this season, but the rest of their form hasn’t matched those exploits. Meanwhile City are 5 from 5, having scored 11 goals and conceded none. They’ve also won the last 5 renewals, three of those to nil, and the 5/4 for them to continue their run of wins without conceding looks to big.
Man City to win to nil @ 5/4 (Paddy Power)
Spurs vs Palace (Sunday 1.30)
Palace’s away record this season is better than Spurs’s home record, as they’ve won both away games whilst Spurs have only managed two draws at home. Something has to give and, with last season’s renewal ending in a draw, that looks the play – as Palace will probably be very happy with a point from this fixture.
Draw @ 13/5 (365, Betfred, BetVictor)
Southampton vs Manchester United (Sunday 4.00)
Both teams were overrated at the beginning of the season, but Man United may just take a lot of confidence and enthusiasm from their second-half performance against Liverpool last-week. They’ve also won 5 of the last 6 renewals of this fixture – and 6/4 looks worth taking.
Manchester United @ 6/4 (Sky, Betfred, BetVictor, Hills)
