12-14 May Premier League Preview & Tips

After an action-packed weekend of top-flight football in England, kicking off with West Ham’s damaging win over rivals Tottenham on Friday night, there is a whole host of fixtures to look forward to this week, with just a matter of weeks remaining until the end of the season.

With the title very much in Chelsea’s hands, the race for the top four continues, although with Jose Mourinho undoubtedly prioritising the Europa League, it seems that Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal will battle it out for the final two places.

At the bottom, Swansea leapfrogged Hull City thanks to a narrow win over Everton, with the two sides facing away trips at the weekend.

Everton vs Watford (Fri 12th @ 19:45)

Both Everton and Watford have stuttered during the final weeks of the season, with little to play for at Goodison Park on Friday night. In what could well be his final game for Everton, with reports linking him with a return to Chelsea, Romelu Lukaku will be hoping to sign off in style, with the Belgian striker already having 24 league goals to his name. With Watford guaranteed Premier League football next season thanks to their superior goal difference, Walter Mazzarri will be hoping to give Hornets fans something to cheer about following just one win in five.

West Bromwich Albion vs Chelsea (Fri 12th @ 20:00)

With Chelsea now just three points away from the title, Antonio Conte’s men will be going all-out for the win at the Hawthorns. Given the form of West Brom over recent weeks, the league leaders will be the overwhelming favourites to claim all three points, with the Baggies having lost four of their last five.

Manchester City vs Leicester City (Sat 13th @ 12:30)

A comfortable 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace has left Pep Guardiola’s side in pole position to claim third spot in their remaining fixtures. However, reigning champions Leicester produced one of their performances of the season to see off City at the King Power Stadium, with Jamie Vardy having produced a much improved second half of the campaign. Sergio Aguero missed out due to injury against Palace, with the Argentine potentially returning to the starting line-up in place of Brazilian prodigy Gabriel Jesus. A win for City would see them leapfrog Liverpool, albeit is potentially only for 24 hours.

Man City HT/FT @ 4/5 (Ladbrokes, Coral)

AFC Bournemouth vs Burnley (Sat 13th @ 15:00)

Just two points separate the duo in the table, with Eddie Jones’ men currently on a three-match unbeaten run in the Premier League, as they prepare for their final home game of the season. With Jack Wilshere’s spell on the south coast having been cut short due to injury, Joshua King has been the star man at Dean Court, with the Norwegian once again likely to be their biggest threat in front of goal. Sam Vokes scored twice last time around for Burnley, with the Welshman looking to earn another rare start for Sean Dyche’s side.

Bournemouth win @ 20/21 (Betfred)

Middlesbrough vs Southampton (Sat 13th @ 15:00)

Boro’s relegation was confirmed after their defeat at Stamford Bridge, with the North-East based side looking to give their home supporters something to cheer about in their final home game of the season, before they drop down to the Championship. The Saints are comfortable in mid-table, with Claude Puel hoping to finish strongly on the South coast.

Under 2.5 Goals @ 10/11 (Betfair SB)

Sunderland vs Swansea City (Sat 13th @ 15:00)

With Sunderland already relegated, the pressure is on Paul Clement’s side to deliver on the road, with the Swans having won two of their last three matches to give themselves a strong chance of survival. Fernando Llorente scored the winner against Everton, with the Spaniard’s relationship with Gylfi Sigurdsson one of the few bright sparks in their season. The likes of Jermain Defoe and Jordan Pickford could well be departing the Stadium of Light in the summer, with the English pair having been strongly linked with the likes of Bournemouth and Everton respectively.

Both teams to score @ 10/13 (10Bet)

Stoke City vs Arsenal (Sat 13th @ 17:30)

A third game in seven days for Arsenal sees them travel to the Britannia stadium to take on Stoke City, who have notoriously given Arsene Wenger’s men a torrid time over the years. Mark Hughes’ men have just one win in their last five Premier League matches, with January signing Saido Berahino still hunting a first goal for his new club. Wenger may choose to change his starting line-up from their midweek trip to Southampton, with Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott pushing for starts.

Arsenal win @ 8/11 (Black Type, SkyBet)

Crystal Palace vs Hull City (Sun 14th @ 12:00)

Despite being four points clear of the bottom three, Palace are still not sure of their Premier League safety, with Sam Allardyce hoping to inspire his side to three points in front of their home fans at Selhurst Park. Christian Benteke has inspired the Eagles to a superb run of form in the second half of the season, however three successive defeats have left them in danger. With Hull facing Tottenham in their final game of the season, Marco Silva is desperate for a positive result on Sunday, with the Tigers having lost to bottom side Sunderland last time out.

Crystal Palace @ 11/10 (Black Type, Bet365)

West Ham United vs Liverpool (Sun 14th @ 14:15)

With the future of Slaven Bilic still up in the air in East London, the Croatian boss will be hoping for three points from the Hammers final home game of the campaign. Having helped see off Tottenham, Manuel Lanzini promises to be a major threat to Liverpool, with Andy Carroll potentially returning against his former club. A win for Liverpool would potentially confirm their place in the top four, with Klopp set to name an unchanged starting eleven.

Liverpool win @ 8/11 (Betfred, BetBright)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United (Sun 14th @ 16:30)

Depending on Chelsea’s results, Spurs could still be in the title hunt by the time they welcome Manchester United, with supporters set to bid an emotional farewell to White Hart Lane. As for United, the visitors will be hoping to have secured their place in the Europa League final by this point, with Mourinho set to once again field a mixture of youth and fringe players in North London. Harry Kane will still hold hopes of catching Lukaku in the race for the golden boot award, with the Spurs skipper in fine form of late.
