Football Betting Tips: Saints To Go Marching On
Having already made our selections for the best of Saturday’s Premier League action, here are our best football tips for Sunday’s and Monday’s games: Crystal Palace vs Liverpool, Hull vs Spurs and Aston Villa vs Southampton.
Crystal Palace vs Liverpool
Last season’s two matches between the clubs were the first for eight seasons and Palace held Liverpool to a 3-3 draw in the corresponding fixture, whilst Liverpool won 3-1 at Anfield. However, a look through the history books show that Liverpool have failed to win on their last five visits to Palace in all competitions.
Neither club is exactly setting the pulse racing this season, with Palace winning only one of their five home fixtures, and coming into this having lost their last two home games, though they have managed to score in 8 of their 11 games.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have lost 3 of their 5 away games, scoring in 4 of those 5 games.
With Liverpool looking for their first win in six games this fixture, they look a lay at 1.94 on the exchanges whilst, with last year’s game producing plenty of goals , and both teams scoring in a high percentage of games this season – the 20/23 for them both to score here looks good value.
5 points lay Liverpool @ 1.94
3 points both teams to score @ 20/23
Hull vs Spurs
Since Steve Bruce took charge of Hull, three of the last four games between the clubs have ended in a draw. Hull have also drawn five of their eleven games this season, though have failed to score in their last three games.
Spurs are definitely underachieving and will be keen to improve their current of form which has seen them lose three of their last four games, though at least they’ve managed to score in their last six premier League games.
The draw looks the value at 12/5, whilst backing 0-0 and 1-1 scorelines may also prove a value play.
1 point draw @ 12/5,
0.5 points 0-0 @ 9/1
0.5 points 1-1 @ 13/2
Aston Villa vs Southampton
Aston Villa draw in their last match ended a losing run of six games in which time they’ve scored just one goal, whilst Southampton have won their last five games keeping four clean sheets in the progress. Meanwhile, the last two corresponding fixtures have ended 0-0 and 0-1.
Bearing all that in mind, the 4/5 for the Saints to go marching on with victory here looks the best of the weekend, whilst the 9/5 for them to win to nil also looks worth a wager.
5 points Southampton @ 4/5
2 points Southampton to win to nil @ 9/5
5 points Newcastle to beat QPR @ 4/5
1 point Newcastle to win 1-0 @ 7/1
1 point Newcastle to win 2-0 @ 8/1
Everton vs West Ham 1 point both teams to score @ 3/4
Arsenal vs Manchester United 2 points draw @ 5/2
