3 Wins To Be Premier League Champions

The footballing world’s opinion of Leicester City has, eventually, shifted from Premier League dreamers to expected champions, and it will be interesting to see if Leicester falter under the weight of that expectancy.

Leicester need just 3 wins from their last 5 games to clinch the title, and that’s if Spurs can win their remaining 5 games. Both teams are odds-on to win this weekend as Leicester play host to West Ham, who still harbour faint hopes of gaining a Champions League spot. Meanwhile, Spurs travel to a Stoke.

At the other end of the table, the Norwich vs Sunderland clash is a game that could have a massive effect on the survival prospects of both clubs, whilst Newcastle must surely beat Swansea if they are to have any chance of remaining in the top-flight – and we’ve got a tip for all 4 games.

Premier League

Norwich vs Sunderland (12.45pm Saturday)

Having played a game more than both Sunderland and Newcastle, a win for Norwich would move them 7 points clear of Sunderland, and their overall home record against them is impressive. Not only have they won 61% of their home games against them, they’ve also won the last 3. Add in the fact they also won at Sunderland this season, and quotes of 29/20 look on the generous side.

Newcastle vs Swansea (Saturday 3pm)

Newcastle desperately need to win this match, but the manager won’t be drawing on their recent results against the Swans for motivation. Swansea have won 5 of the last 6 head-to-heads, and the last 3 matches at Newcastle – making the 12/5 for a Swansea win look very big indeed.

Leicester vs West Ham (1.30pm Sunday)

There must surely be at least one more twist in what has been a captivating Premier League season and, with West Ham having a decent away record against the big clubs this year, this could be it. However, as Leicester have won 5 of their last 6 home games, their last 5 Premier League games, and the last three head-to-heads with West Ham – the stats suggest 20/21 for a Leicester win is pretty good value.

Stoke vs Spurs (Monday 8pm)

Spurs may definitely need to win this, but whether they should be odds-on to do so is debatable. Yes, at their best, they’re a class above their opponents, but they’ve only won 1 of their last 3 away games. Stoke have also held their own against several big teams at home this season, including wins over Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea, and draws against Arsenal and Leicester – making Spurs look a lay.
