Football Betting Tips: Premier League Pointers

Normality returned to the Premier League last week as Southampton and Manchester United landed our big-hitters double, and Chelsea beat Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Newcastle continued their fine run of form and now, having seemed likely relegation candidates for their first few games, look on the verge of mounting a serious challenge to be playing European football next season.

With an international break, the games to concentrate on next are on the 22nd November; Newcastle vs QPR, Everton vs West Ham and Arsenal vs Man Utd – and you can read all our football betting tips below:

Newcastle vs QPR

QPR have looked a slightly improved side of late having drawn with Manchester City, beaten Villa and managed to score in defeats against both Chelsea and Liverpool. However, Newcastle are owners of the hottest streak in the Premier League at the moment, having won their last four games, and also boast a serious home record against QPR, having won four of the last five corresponding fixtures: 1-0, 1-0, 1-1, 2-1 and 2-1. They can make it five wins out of six in this fixture, and five Premier League wins on the trot by claiming victory here at a best-priced 4/5.

Predicting the correct score looks a little trickier as Newcastle have managed to keep three clean sheets in their last four games, including both home games, whilst QPR have scored in their last four games. The five previous corresponding fixtures have all been tight affairs however, with both 1-0 and 2-1 having been the winning score on two occasions, and backing both looks a percentage call.

Everton vs West Ham

Both teams go into this fixture having drawn their last two games but, whilst Everton have generally under-performed this season, West Ham are flying higher than expected in 4th position in the Premier League.

The initial thought was to lay Everton, but the hosts boast a superior record in this fixture with three wins and two draws from the last five renewals – and their price of 4/5 looks about right, statistically.

One other interesting statistic is that both teams have scored in 9 of their 11 premier League games this season, and the 3/4 that they both score here looks the value.

1 point both teams to score @ 3/4

Arsenal vs Manchester United

This week’s big Saturday TV game sees Arsenal priced up as 11/8 favourites, which looks on the short side considering they have won just one of the last five renewals, and none of the last three.

Arsenal have also struggled at home this season, only recording victories against Burnley and Crystal Palace, whilst Southampton won at the Emirates, and Man City, Hull and Spurs all took a point home. The positive for Gunners fans is that Man Utd have a worse away record this season having failed to notch a single victory in five attempts on their travels, losing two and drawing three. It’s a tough one to call but a draw looks the value at 5/2.

2 points draw @ 5/2
