Premier League leaders Chelsea have a potentially tricky game away at Newcastle this weekend and, whilst both Manchester teams also have relatively tough games, they’re expected to close the gap at the top. Read our reasoning and staking plan for our football tips below.
Newcastle vs Chelsea, Saturday
A 1-0 defeat to West Ham’s last time out may have ended Newcastle’s five-game winning streak, but they’ll be looking to get back on track by winning their fourth consecutive home game, after winning their last three against QPR, Liverpool Leicester all 1-0.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have drawn two of their last three away games (Sunderland and Manchester United) which sandwiched a win at Liverpool.
Newcastle have also won this fixture for the last two seasons, and it’s hard to argue that the 13/2 for them to claim the hat-trick over Chelsea looks a big price. However, with Chelsea still undefeated in the Premier League this season, it looks more sensible to lay Chelsea on the exchanges.

Manchester City vs Everton, Saturday
City are starting to look a major threat to Chelsea after consecutive home victories over Spurs, Man Utd and Swansea, whilst they also beat Bayern Munich at home in the Champions League.
Everton meanwhile have only managed one victory on their Premier League travels this season, whilst they’ve also lost this fixture in two of the last three seasons.
City look more like a 1/2 chance to me – and the 8/15 looks a shade of value.

Spurs vs Crystal Palace, Saturday
Only last season’s games between the two sides have much relevance to this match – and Spurs managed to win both of them to nil.
Spurs have surprisingly won only three and lost four of their Premier League home games, though did win their last one against Everton.
However, Crystal Palace’s away record is even worse, winning only once on their travels, also against Everton.
Spurs are 8/13 to win, and 9/5 to win to nil which looks the value

Southampton vs Manchester United, Monday
Last year’s corresponding fixture ended in a draw, but United won on their previous five appearances at St Mary’s Stadium.
After a fantastic 10-week run of form, Southampton are also starting to look a little frayed with only one goal in three games and defeats against two of the better teams in the Premier league in Man City and Arsenal
Meanwhile, Man Utd have climbed to fourth in the table after four straight wins and can leapfrog third-placed Southampton with victory here at a generous 17/10.
