Bournemouth vs Swansea may not be everyone’s idea of a thrilling Saturday teatime match, but there are expected to be plenty of goals. Therefore, we’ve got a tip for that match, as well as three other matches that could have a significant bearing in the battle to avoid Premier League relegation.
Sunderland vs Burnley (Saturday 3.00)
Burnley haven’t managed to win away all season in the Premier League, but have been playing better away from home of late despite picking-up just 1 point from their last 5 away games. That was against Hull, whilst they’ve only lost by a solitary goal to Liverpool, Swansea, Watford and Arsenal, scoring on each occasion. Sunderland have also failed to find the net in 6 of their last 7 games, though did score 4 goals against Crystal Palace in the middle of that run, and have won their last 4 home games against Burnley. Sunderland desperately need to win this game to keep their season alive and, as they’ve had more magical escapes than Houdini in recent seasons, a win here can kickstart another end-of-season scrap to survive.
Sunderland win @ 13/8 (Unibet, Marathon Bet)
Everton vs Hull (Saturday 3.00)
Hull desperately need a win as they’ve played a game more than the three teams closest to them in the relegation battle, but it’s hard to see them getting a result at Everton this weekend. Everton have been in stunning form at home of late with 3-0, 6-3, 4-0 and 3-0 wins, whilst Hull haven’t won away from home in the league since August.
Everton Win @ 8/15 (Various Bookies)
Crystal Palace vs Watford (Saturday 3.00)
It’s hard to be confident about Palace’s home form of Watford’s away form, with Palace stopping a run of 7 home defeats with a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough last time, and Watford somehow beating Arsenal in the midst of some poor away results. Recent renewals of this fixture have also produced two wins each, though Palace did win this year’s FA Cup Match 2-1. The result looks tough to call but, as the last 5 renewals have produced at least three goals, the bet may be to back over 2.5 goals.
Over 2.5 goals @ 5/4 (Betstars, Betfair Sportsbook)
Bournemouth vs Swansea (Saturday 5.30)
This may not be the usual high-profile game that is often chosen for the Saturday teatime game, but it does promise lots of goals. Bournemouth beat Swansea 3-0 earlier in the season, whilst their games last season ended 2-2 and 3-2. There have also been 3 or more goals in 15 of Swansea’s last 17 games, and 10 of Bournemouth’s last 13 games – suggesting the 8/11 for there to be more than 2.5 goals is probably the bet of the weekend.
More Than 2.5 Goals @ 8/11 (Black Type, SkyBet)
