Euro 2016 Match Previews 15 June
Wednesday sees the start of the second round of group matches at Euro 2016, and we’ve got analysis and tips for Russia vs Slovakia, Romania vs Switzerland, and France vs Albania.
Russia vs Slovakia
Match Betting Best Odds: Russia 10/7, Draw 41/18, Slovakia 12/5
Both teams will surely have to be of the mind-set that they have to win this game, after Slovakia lost to Wales and Russia drew with England in the first round of Group-B Matches, and both will know that they still hold a reasonable chance of at least qualifying in third-spot in the group, if not higher. Both teams scored in their opening game, and that’s now 11 matches on the trot that Russia have scored in, whilst Slovakia have scored in 7 of their last 10 matches. The last 3 games between the two teams have ended 1-0, however Russia have adopted a more attacking style of play under their new manager, and that should hopefully mean an open game with plenty of chances. It’s 21/20 that both teams score – and that looks the bet.

Romania vs Switzerland
Romania 33/13, Draw 9/4, Switzerland 16/11
Romania have won 3 of their previous head-to-heads and Switzerland 2 though, as the last of those matches was in the 1994 World Cup, it should have little relevance to today’s match. Switzerland have made the best start of the two teams having beaten Iceland, though it could be argued that Romania looked the better team in going down 2-1 to a French side that are favourites to win the tournament. Romania will also know that they must win this game if they’re to have a decent chance of finishing second in the group – and the 33/13 for them to beat Switzerland looks worth taking.

France vs Albania
Match Betting Best Odds: France 1/4, Draw 6/1, Albania 20/1
Despite being offered at 20/1, Albania aren’t without hope having won the last game between the two teams in a friendly in 2015, whilst they also drew in their 2014 friendly. However, when it mattered for European Championship Qualifying in 2012, it was France who won both home (3-0) and away (2-1). It can also be argued that France have improved since. The Albanians don’t score many goals but, having lost their first game, they have little to gain by being defensive, and this might just give France a bit of room to manoeuvre, and they could easily win 2-0 or 3-0.
