The Quarter Finals of the EFL Cup (also known as the Carabao Cup), take place on Tuesday and Wednesday. Manchester City travel to Leicester on Tuesday evening in the first of three all Premier League clashes, while Arsenal host their main London rivals Tottenham on Wednesday. Chelsea also host Bournemouth on Wednesday evening and will be looking to book their place in the EFL Cup semi-finals.
Leicester City vs Man City (Tuesday 19.45)
Three-time EFL Cup winners Leicester take on five-time EFL Cup winners Manchester City, but it was back in 2000 when Leicester last lifted the trophy. Meantime, City have won the EFL cup three-times in the last five years but, if you’re superstitious, they’ve only won it in the even years of 2014, 2016, and 2018.
Leicester have beaten Fleetwood and Southampton so far in the competition, beating Southampton on penalties after the game ended 0-0. That low-scoring affair came in the middle of a run of nine matches for Leicester that have produced less than 2.5 goals and that lack of goals has cost them dearly in their last two games, losing to nil to both Tottenham and Crystal Palace.
Of course, Leicester are playing the Premier League’s top-scorers in Manchester City, whose matches rarely produce less than 2.5 goals. However, one of those occasions was a 2-0 win over Fulham in the last round of the EFL Cup, whilst Leicester also held City to a 1-1 draw at home in the Premier League last season. So, it could be worth playing less than 2.5 goals at odds-against.

Arsenal vs Tottenham (Wednesday 19.45)
The EFL Cup is one of the few competitions in which Tottenham can boast a better record than their London rivals Arsenal. Spurs won the last of their four EFL Cups in 2008, whilst Arsenal won it for the second time back in 1993.
This competition would not have been top of either team’s priority list at the start of the season but, despite fielding weakened teams in the earlier rounds, Arsenal have beaten Blackpool 2-1 and Brentford 3-1. Meantime Tottenham, who also fielded weakened teams, managed to beat West Ham and Watford.
Of course, the teams have already met once this season already, with Arsenal fighting back from being 2-1 down at half-time to win 4-2 at the Emirates. That was a contrast to recent low-scoring matches between the two-sides but very much in keeping with the attacking policy both teams have adopted this season.
So, despite their poor recent showings in the competition, both teams look sure to be motivated to get one over on their bitter rivals and to reach the semi-finals. That should, hopefully, lead to an exciting high-scoring match, and it could be worth playing over 3.5 goals.

Chelsea vs Bournemouth (Wednesday 19.45)
Chelsea have won the EFL Cup five-times, with their last victory coming in 2015, whilst Bournemouth have yet to register a victory in the competition.
Bournemouth have enjoyed a relatively easy run in this year’s competition so far with wins over Milton Keynes Dons, Blackburn, and Norwich. Meantime, Chelsea did the other teams a big favour by knocking out Liverpool, whilst Chelsea fans also enjoyed their victory over the Frank Lampard managed Derby in the last round.
Bournemouth will be hoping to repeat January’s 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge, but Chelsea reversed that form when the pair again met at Stamford Bridge in September with a 2-0 win. More worrying for Bournemouth is their recent form, which has seen them win just one of their last seven Premier League games since beating Norwich in the last round of the EFL Cup.
Even more worrying is they’ve also lost their last two matches to nil, which means they could struggle against a Chelsea team that managed to stop even Manchester City scoring at Stamford Bridge two games ago. That was Chelsea’s second successive home win to nil and they’re fancied to make it a hat-trick against struggling Bournemouth.
