It’s the halfway stage in the 2018/19 Champions League Group Stages and winning this week’s midweek matches could be crucial to some of the English teams looking to progress to the knockout stages. We’ve got analysis and free tips for Red Star Belgrade vs Liverpool, Tottenham vs PSV, and Juventus vs Manchester United.

Red Star Belgrade vs Liverpool (Tuesday 17.55)

Liverpool may currently top a tricky looking Group C in this year’s Champions League but, with Napoli and PSG both breathing down their necks, this isn’t the time to be taking it easy against a Red Star Belgrade side that have so far proved the whipping boys of the group. A 0-0 home draw against Napoli means that Red Star have a point on the board, but Napoli squandered countless chances before surrendering what could prove a vita two-points at the end of the group. However, it’s unlikely that Red Star will be able to keep Liverpool’s legions of attacking options at bay and, with just one goal in three games, that will surely mean another Liverpool win.

Liverpool will want to dominate the match too as, with PSG scoring six past Red Star in France, who tops this group after all the matches could well go down to goal difference. That’s why the value bet could be Liverpool to win by four goals or more. Liverpool won 4-0 against Red Star at home and it could easily have been six or seven.

The goals at Anfield were scored by Salah (two), Mane and Firmino, and it would be no surprise if they all got on the scoresheet again. However, with both Firmino and Mane on offer at odds-against in the anytime goalscorer market, it could be worth backing them both, with just one needing to score to guarantee a small profit.

Tottenham vs PSV (Tuesday 20:00)

Tottenham probably have to win all three remaining games in Group B to have a chance of reaching the knockout stages, though they’ll surely keep trying with the added incentive of at least being added to the Europa League if they can finish a reasonable third. If that’s to happen, they’ll need to beat PSV here and they really should be too good for the Dutch side. They certainly looked the better team in Holland in the away leg, but a sending-off and some schoolboy errors meant they ended up with a draw.

I think Spurs have the ammunition to win easily but, having watched Spurs play Manchester City at Wembley recently on a pitch made bumpy by American Football games, I’m a little worried that Spurs might not score all the goals they’re capable of. So, with Spurs having a decent record of being ahead at half-time and full-time against inferior opposition, any price around evens for that result here looks worth taking.

Juventus vs Manchester United (Wednesday 20:00)

Manchester United may have got lucky being drawn in Group H, as it’s certainly a weaker group on paper than the groups Liverpool and Tottenham have been drawn in. However, as United are far from certain to progress, a draw against Juventus could go a long way to aiding their cause. The problem is they were outclassed and outplayed at Old Trafford by Juventus, and it could be more of the same now Juventus enjoy home advantage.

United have at least found plenty of heart of late, the latest sample of which was a win against a Bournemouth side that dominated much of Saturday’s Premier League match between the two teams. They also nearly beat Chelsea, whilst they fought back to win from 2-0 down against Newcastle. However, despite playing in similar black and white stripes To Newcastle, it’s unlikely Juventus will let United off the hook in the same way.

A 2-0 win for Juventus looks a likely score-line, whilst a saver on 3-0 is also recommended. It’s also surprising that both Ronaldo and Dybala are odds against to score, so it looks worth backing them both to score at any time as, if just one of them scores, it guarantees a small profit.
