Tottenham vs Everton is Monday’s only Premier League game and it pitches together two teams that are separated by just one point in mid-table. However, neither side will have given up hope of snatching the last spot in next season’s Europa League, so motivation look assured.
Tottenham will be looking to bounce back from defeat at Sheffield United, but they had drawn against Manchester United and beaten West Ham away from home before that. Meanwhile, Everton kept a clean sheet against the champions Liverpool in their first game back and have beaten Leicester and Norwich by one-goal margins since. That all suggests this could be a tight match and the value looks to be the draw.
Past head-to-heads also make the draw look a value bet for Tottenham vs Everton, with 21 of their past 55 Premier League games ending tied. That’s an amazing 38% of games, meaning the draw should be no more than around 13/8. However, most bookies are offering 5/2 or better – suggesting we can get some real value by backing the draw.
It’s not as though those draws are all distant memories either, with this year’s game at Goodison Park ending 1-1 and last year’s match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium producing a 2-2 draw. Admittedly, Tottenham had dominated this fixture for a while before that, but they have regressed this season, while Everton have made progress since Carlo Ancelotti took charge.
Tottenham have also drawn three of their last six games in all competitions, while Everton have drawn two of their last five, adding a bit more weight to the argument of why a draw looks the value bet for the match between Tottenham and Everton.
