The National League Championship Series continues with Game 4 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves and as of the time this article is being written, Game 2 is being played right now (no score, inning 4) and Game 3 is Wednesday evening so it makes it a little bit more difficult to predict this specific game but we’re going to give it a go anyway.
The Braves probably won’t announce their starter for Game 4 until the end of Game 3. Depending on the outcome and depending on who the Braves decide to use out of their bullpen in the first three games. Huascar Ynoa, Bryse Wilson and Josh Tomlin are the likeliest contenders.
The Dodgers haven’t announced their starters beyond Tuesday’s game into which a monkey wrench was thrown when future Hall of Fame pitcher Clayton Kershaw was withdrawn due to back spasms. Depending on how he’s feeling Thursday he may be the Dodgers best chance. When Kershaw is at his best, he’s virtually unstoppable.
At the end of the day we feel that the Dodgers have a deeper rotation than the Braves with young pitchers like Dustin May, Julio Urias and Tony Gonsolin and despite losing Game 1, we feel like the Dodgers’ record throughout the regular season, a season where they had the strongest record in the entire league, will start to take hold and expose the Braves who were ranked 21st in baseball when it came to defensive runs saved vs. the Dodgers who ranked #2.
