Thursday Night Football for week 10 features a showdown between the Indianapolis Colts and the Tennessee Titans. Two evenly matched teams on paper. We’re siding with the underdog Colts here to score a minor upset here. Here’s why:
The Tennessee Titans began the season with all the momentum. Beating up on lesser opponents like the Denver Broncos, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Minnesota Vikings before annihilating the Buffalo Bills and then defeating the Houston Texans. They were 5-0 to start the season but the teams they faced (with the exception of Buffalo) all have losing records at this point in the season. Upon further review, 4 of those 5 games were decided by less than a single touchdown so while their record looked good on paper, they were vulnerable. That vulnerability showed when they played the Pittsburgh Steelers and lost by 3. From there they lost to a Cincinnati Bengals team which, to us, really exposed who they are. This is a team with a good record that you cannot trust.
The Indianapolis Colts also have a winning record and that record has also been achieved against lesser teams, however those wins were accomplished much more emphatically. Blowouts against teams like the New York Jets and the Detroit Lions are what’s supposed to happen when you face inferior teams. That coupled with the fact that they have one of the top defenses in the league along with the fact that they’re playing one of the toughest teams this Sunday in the Baltimore Ravens tells us they’ll be primed to upset the Tennessee Titans on Thursday night.
