Monday night football for week 7 pits the Chicago Bears who are 5-1 against the Los Angeles Rams who are currently 4-2. Both teams seem pretty evenly matched on the surface. We’re going with the Rams to take this one for a few reasons.
In their most recent start, the Chicago Bears defeated the Carolina Panthers who are 3-3. The Panthers are a pretty mediocre team and the Bears didn’t exactly dominate that game. Even though the Rams lost to the San Fransisco 49’ers, the 9’ers, who played in last year’s Super Bowl are a tougher team than Carolina and we’re thinking the Rams got more out of playing San Fransisco than Chicago got out of playing Carolina.
The Bears have only lost one game this season, to the Indianapolis Colts whose defense seemed to stop them at every chance. They do however have a few tight wins against mediocre teams like the NY Giants, Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Their 5-1 record looks great on paper but the Rams’ record means more. They’ve had more dominant wins against the teams they’re supposed to beat.
The Rams will look to their All-Pro defensive lineman Aaron Donald to stymie the Bears’ offensive strategies. Donald currently leads the NFL with 7 ½ sacks and will be all over Bears quarterback Nick Foles, rushing that offense along.
