Who Will Win Super Bowl LIV?
The 2020 Super Bowl is being billed as the best offense versus the best defense and, in Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs have the player that is most capable of winning a Super Bowl on his own. The Chief’s quarterback has recovered well from a knee injury in midseason to strike up some awesome connections with teammates such as Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, Demarcus Robinson, Sammy Watkins, and Mecole Hardman.
The other plus point for the Chiefs is that Harrison Butker is a better kicker than Robbie Gould for the 49ers.
But the Chiefs offense has yet to come up against a defense this season as strong in all departments as that of the 49ers, who have also slightly outscored the Chiefs in average points per game 30.2 to 29.8.
There’s no doubt that Mahomes had what it takes to lead the Chiefs to Super Bowl success but, if he doesn’t deliver, then it’s hard to see which of the other players for the Chiefs will take up the gauntlet.
That’s not the case with the 49ers, who don’t rely as heavily on their quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. According to his numbers in the last few matches, Garopollo’s importance to the 49ers has decreased. But the Chiefs will know they can’t ignore a quarterback that can throw a total of 349 yards and four touchdown passes, which is what Garoppolo did when the 49ers beat the Saints in December.
But what could tip the advantage in favour of the 49ers is their diversity. Only Baltimore’s rushing defense has been better than the 49ers this season, and it’s notable that the 49ers outclassed Green Bay’s rush defense, which is statistically much better than the Chief’s rush defense.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan has instilled lots of pre-snap movement and misdirection, whilst the likes of Laken Tomlinson, Joe Staley, Ben Garland, Kyle Juszcyk, Mike Pearson, and Mike McGlinchey have been awesome in blocking the line of scrimmage.
It’s also easy to see why the 49ers are considered to have the best defensive line-up this season, with Solomon Thomas, Arik Armstead, Solomon Thomas and Dee Ford strengthened by the arrival of last year’s 2019 NFL Draft no.2 pick Nick Bosa.
Kwon Alexander is also back in top form alongside Fred Warner, whilst Jaquiski Tartt, Jimmy Ward, Dontae Johnson, Ahkello Witherspoon, and Emmanuel Moseley are about as dangerous collection of defensive backs as you could hope for.
Mitch Wishnowsky is another star find for the 49ers this season, with the Rookie punter pinning the opposition inside their own 20-yards line on two more occasions that Dustin Colquitt for the Chiefs.

Super Bowl LIV Analysis
23:30 on 2nd February
The gut-feeling is the San Francisco 49ers are a stronger all-round team than the Kansas City Chief, and master tactician Kyle Shanahan looks sure to come up with a variety of ways to reduce the match winning prowess of Patrick Mahomes. If he succeeds, the Chiefs could struggle to contain the 49ers rushing offense.
Underdogs also have a decent record in the Super Bowl, with seven of the last 10 winners not starting as the favourite. That’s another reason to think that the San Francisco 49ers can win Super Bowl LIV.
