A Review Of GT Bets – Sports, Racing & Casino

Published on 11/04/18

GT Bets is a sportsbook friendly to the US market, launched in 2011. It is licensed in Curacao, and also provides a racebook and casino games. Its reputation as a trustworthy betting provider was quickly established thanks to its swift cash-outs and reliable operations, and it is among the fastest-growing offshore bookmakers for US customers.

A unique feature of GT Bets is its focus on recreational betting customers; serious bettors are actually discouraged. Their focus is on the Major US leagues, and there is a reload bonus for additional deposits along with an appealing welcome bonus package.

This review will examine GT Bets in some depth, looking at the user interface and highlights from the different lines and markets available. We will also discover the different promotions of GT Bets, and the payment methods that are accepted, capped off with a brief summary of the positives and negatives.

The lines and markets GT Bets offers

The GT Bets webpage is unique, with a colourful, high-impact design. One would be forgiven for thinking it appears targeted at mobile devices, but GT Bets actually operate a separate mobile-optimised site. Account login is at the top of the screen, and the menu bar enables you to navigate to Casino, Cashier, Racebook and Mobile Site.

The homepage is primarily an advertisement for the signup bonus, with a list of different markets down the left hand side. Selecting a market causes the included lines to take over the majority of the screen. This simplistic layout is less imposing and intimidating than many other sportsbooks, though it lacks a little detail and the diversity of bets preferred by more seasoned sports bettors.

The lines in GT Bets accommodate all the top US markets, with particularly extensive coverage of the NFL and Canadian football league. There are also lines for Major League Baseball, NBA and NCAA basketball, and the NHL. In addition to regular line betting, GT Bets incorporates daily fantasy sports options, where you can put money on which fantasy player will score highest in a series of Matchup lines.

The other sports GT Bets covers include major tennis champions, PGA golf tournaments, MMA, boxing and rugby, as well as soccer from the world’s top leagues. If you select soccer, you are presented with a long list of major competitions including the English Premier League, Spanish Liga BBVA and the German Bundesliga. Meanwhile, there is a separate section for horse racing, featuring all the biggest US tracks.

Once you select a market, all the relevant lines are displayed, along with their prices. For the most part you only receive win lines, shown in the standard format for US odds, although some also have options for different prop bets. Overall, GT Bets includes all the essential bets you might expect to find across all markets and lines, although it does lack a little depth by excluding sports with a more limited audience.

Bonuses and promotions of GT Bets

You are presented with a choice between two sign-up bonuses when you register an account with GT Bets. The first is a 100% match of your initial deposit, capped at $250, and the second is a 50% match on a deposit up to $500. Both release along with a 5x point rollover, and the funds can be used in the sportsbook, casino and racebook. Every time you place a bet on GT Bets you earn a certain number of points, based on the activity you bet on, details of which can be found in the terms and conditions.

If you bet only on sports other than baseball or horse racing, you will bet through your deposit and bonus 10x before it gets released. Betting solely on baseball will mean you must bet 25x your bonus and deposit, and horse racing has a requirement of 6.7x. If you choose to head over to the casino, play-through varies between games with either 25x for slots of 50x for table games.

Additionally, GT Bets honours its customers with reload bonuses every time they deposit money. Bonuses vary from customer to customer; they can find the details in their account under ‘Bonus Alert’. This generally clears similarly to the sign-up bonus.

Depositing and withdrawing

You can deposit money to your account with Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards, as long as they accept international transactions. Deposits are free, with a generously low $35 minimum. US customers can also use Quick Cash or Direct Cash payment services, though there are varying fees and the minimum deposit is $100. Bitcoin transactions are also accepted.

International bettors can use Skrill and Neteller e-wallets, but first deposits only qualify for the 50% bonus up to $500.

When you cash out, you can request a couriered check or a bank wire. Fees range from $49-$60, and minimum transactions are $100. Quick Cash and Direct Cash can also process withdrawals, with a $300 minimum and $50+ fee.

The cheapest transactions are through Bitcoin, with no fees on a $300 minimum. Some knowledge of cryptocurrencies is advised before taking this route.

GT Bets – the good

– Accepts US customers
– Good reputation built up quickly
– Great promotions with flexible options
– Good user interface, fully mobile compatible

GT Bets – the bad

– Cash-out charges are high
– Withdrawal limits for US customers
– Lack of smaller leagues and niche sports
– Bonus terms are a little confusing

The bottom line

GT Bets has plenty to offer the enthusiastic sports bettor, particularly those based in the United States. The sportsbook has a pleasant and intuitive user interface, but it does have a lack of smaller markets and alternative lines. The sign-up bonus for GT Bets is appealing, and the ongoing offer of automatic reload bonus is a great feature. Being a site that caters to the USA, the payment methods that GT Bets allows can be on the expensive side, so make sure you thoroughly understand the terms and conditions before you deposit. Pay close attention to the minimum withdrawals associated with your payment method.
