Boy oh boy, Christmas season is just around the corner and the Christmas spirits are running high. There’s a special treat planned by the NFL for all Football fans this Christmas with a host of exciting games scheduled during Christmas time. It is going to be week 16 of the NFL season and the Sunday has been jam packed with very exciting games kicking off throughout the course of the day.

The 24 of December, aka Christmas Eve is going to be one busy day in the NFL with a host of good games to be played leading up to the Christmas special treat. The Lions and the Bengals will be starting off the action at 1:00 pm ET. The average passing yards, the rushing yards and the average points scoring between the Bengals and the Lions are matched. The Bengal’s average red zone offense may however be a factor which goes in their favour going against the Lions even though they both are matching each other in the touchdown scoring aspect of their respective seasons leading up to this Christmas special face off between the two. The Bengals are the side that’s favoured to win between the two.

The Reds versus the Broncos game in Washington will also be one to look out for with the Redskins favourites to come out the victors. Both the Redskins and the Broncos have excellent average passing distance running up to this match but the rushing yards is something the Redskins will probably outshine the Broncos in. But what ultimately might be the factor leading to the demise of the Broncos against the Redskins is probably their low average touchdown scoring rate which has been consistently like that throughout the season so far.

But leaving all of that aside, if you really feel that you’re one for Monday night doubles, you’re in for a real treat on Christmas. There are two games NFL scheduled for the day. Yes, that is right. Two games on Monday, the 25th of December. 49 years since the famous day when Santa Claus was infamously booed right out of the Eagles game, there will be a chance for reconciliation for the Philadelphian fans and why? It’s because with  the revered St. Nick, the Eagles are going to host their bitter enemies, the Raiders, at the game scheduled to kick off at 8:30 pm ET.

Oh and speaking of the booing, the fact that the Raiders have a hectic schedule this time around, they will probably be booing the league’s officials. It involves them flying across the country so they can get back on home soil and then heading out on the road again to face off against the fearful Chargers in the 17th week.

The real showdown which everyone is waiting for are the various Christmas game. The Texans will be taking on the Steelers in the prime match of this NFL season’s week 16 match up on Christmas. This is going to air live at 4:30 pm ET. This Christmas double header will mark the 2nd,consecutive year the NFL has decided that two regular season games will be held Christmas day. Although this is nothing new, as a double header was also held last year; however, this is the first time the NFL is holding a Christmas special doubleheader in a decade.

So, gear up everyone! This Christmas Day is going to be a blast.
