There are 10 runners set to go to post for Division 2 of our sponsored race, and here is our analysis of the runners and our tip.

Stand Aside 14/1

No better than 5th in his first 6 races, and fared no better in his first handicap under similar conditions at Stratford. Down 2lb for that effort. Trainer 4 winners in last 15 runners.

Westerly Breeze 9/2

Raised 8lb for finishing second to Division 1 favourite Tobefair, which looks harsh on all other known form. Apprentice jockey takes over from Richard Johnson. Trainer 0/3 in June.

Mazurati 16/1

Finished 4th behind Tobefair last time but, having jumped continually right, then hanging left, it looked like he didn’t appreciate the Worcester layout. Trainer 0/12 in June.

Distant Sound 16/1

9th behind Tobefair last time and, even though he’s been dropped 4lb, he’ll have to find something extra to even beat the placed horses from that race.

Patricktom Boru 11/2

Won twice off a 9lb lower mark in May under similar conditions, but looked to have been stopped by handicapper in his last run. Trainer no winners from last 10 runners.

Catkin Copse 14/1

Runs off lowest mark but 10 lengths is the nearest he’s finished to a winner. Trainer form of 2 winners from last 9 runners offers some hope.

Shady Glen 12/1

Third behind Tobefair last time and, if that form works out, he has every right to sneak a place again. Trainer 1 winner from 13 runners in June.

Master Cardo Visa 12/1

Finished second five times in his career off similar and slightly higher marks, without winning, including over 3-miles at Worcester. Trainer has had two places from just 5 runners this season, and could notch-up another place.

Tachbury 9/4

Won off a mark of 70 two starts back and then showed improved form by finishing second off 82 on his next run. Gets to run off just 74 here, with his amateur jockey taking another 7lb off his back, meaning he again carries a low-weight. Could prove hard to beat.

Master Cardo looks like a possible each-way alternative to the favourite, however Tachbury really should win if he can continue his good recent form.
