Having never previously played in a World Cup Finals, and being the 2,000/1 outsiders of the 32 teams remaining in the 2018 World Cup – it’s no great surprise that No Goal Scorer is the favourite in the 2018 World Cup Panama Top Scorer Market. However, we thought we’d take a look to see if there’s any better value to be had.
2018 World Cup Panama Top Scorer Betting
No Goal Scorer 3/1, Luis Tejada 5/1, Gabriel Torres 5/1, Abdiel Arroyo 5/1, Blas Perez 5/1, Gabriel Gomez 14/1, Roman Torres 16/1
No Goal Scorer
Panama managed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup despite scoring just 8 goals in their 10 matches in the final round of CONCACAF Qualifying, with no player scoring more than 2 goals. The opposition is considered tougher here, and the question is will they breach the defences of Belgium, England and Tunisia.
35-year-old striker who has scored 43 goals in 103 games for Panama, but his last goal was in 2016. Scored 39 goals in 58 games for club side Juan Aurich and 18 goals in 37 games for Universiterio.
29-year-old who scored just 8 goals in 42 games for Lausanne-Sport in 2016/17, but scored 5 of his 15 goals for Panama in 2017. Scored 1 of those in World Cup Qualifying.
24-year-old who scored 5 goals in 19 games for Danubio in 2017, and also scored 3 of his 5 goals for Panama in the same year. Scored 1 goal in World Cup Qualifying.
36-year-old who scored 9 goals in 31 games for Blooming and Municipal in 2017, but also scored two important World Cup Qualifying goals for Panama against Honduras and Costa Rica. Scored a total of 43 goals in 113 games for Panama.
33-year-old Midfielder who averages less than a goal every 10 games for both club and country, but did score once in World Cup Qualifying.
Centre-back who has scored at an average of a goal every 8 games for his club sides, as well as coring 10 goals in 103 games for Panama. Was joint top-scorer in World Cup Qualifying with 2 goals.
Panama aren’t prolific goal-scorers by any means and, as Belgium, England and Tunisia all like to keep it tight at the back, the 3/1 for there to be No Panama Goal-scorer looks pretty fair. However, the value-seeker in me thinks they could sneak a goal from a set-piece, so centre-back Roman Torres could be the value-bet.
